Served on-tap, in a pint glass, at the brewery.
As served, Tröegs Pale Ale was a very pale golden bronze, with very little head and little-to-no lace. It didn't appeal much to the eye.
The smell and taste were malty and acidic with a low hop presence. No single hop characteristic (citrus, grass, pine, etc.) stood out, and as a result, neither did the ale.
Overall, Tröegs Pale Ale is better than average, but not remarkable. I won't regret it, but I don't expect to remember it in the morning.

Golden amber color with a thin thick head with low retention but leaving lots of laces.
Aroma of bread malt with light notes of herbal hops and papaya.
Flavor is more intense, notes of sweet pale malt, herbal hops with some lemon and grapefruit citrus, a hint of spices and resin finishing. Dry and bitter aftertaste.
Light body with low carbonation.
Pleasant beer that grows over time. Balanced and refreshing APA on the average lower side of intensity. Great fit for a session beer.
