Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Pilsener Glass. A rough, vertical pour yielded a white 2 finger head. Beer is lemon-yellow gold with faint carbonation. As I drank this a maginficient shroud of lacing coated the whole glass.
Aroma: typical pilsener/lager with crackery malt, grassiness and herbal hopiness.
Taste: unlike many other Pilseners I have drank the Hops here leap out front and initially blast the malt off the palate but the finish is long & malty. The finish is a nice mix of bready malt and herbal hoppiness.
Notes: This Pilsener gets it right. Strongly hopped but not over the top and unpleasant like Prima Pils. This has more character than Stoudt's Pils and is different enough than Brooklyn Pilsener to make it another fine Pilsener to keep around. The bottle says a Crisp, Hoppy Pilsener and I would say it is hoppier than it is Crisp but the Hops taste of the Noble variety and don't wallop you with nastiness. This is a joyful, fun, quaffable Summertime beer.
