great beer. pretty dark amber, almost purple color, good head that doesnt stick around long. big aroma of cherries and apples. you can smell the freshness.
opens with big caramel, bready malts, lots of cherry and apple, little pear, maybe some plum. nice hoppy sizzle on the tongue sensation, love the hallertau / sazz combo. hoppier in bottle, nuttier on tap, been so long since ive enjoyed a sixer almost forgot how good this beer can be. very heavy, truly a meal in a bottle, good mouthfeel and finishes little syrupy. the cherry and apple really stood out, reminding me this was one of the first craft beers i loved. good to revisit an old favorite.
outstanding. and a great value.
