Picked this up at Cardoza's Wine an Spirits in Fall River....they have really upped their inventory.
A - Poured into a DFH wide middled Pint Glass? (I guess that's what you would call it). Pours a beautiful ruby color with some haze. A nice thick frothy head that looks like it could be peach mousse. I was totally caught off guard with the color....a truly beautiful presentation.
S- Smells of dark hops....almost like what hop preserves would smell like. Dark fruit notes.... ruby red grapefruit...citrus peel...some alcohol after a swirl or two.
T- Very spicy and zesty beer. Come celery seed and fennel. Preserves and sticky hop resin. An incredible balanced Barleywine... more like a very balanced Double IPA... it has Sierra "Bigfoot" syndrome. ...(not a bad thing)
M- A big.... BIG... mouthfeel....a very heavy malt presence. but.... a clean crisp unbelievable finish...the hop acids clean up after the malt really well. This just screams nugget nectar in the aftertaste and finish.
D - The finish and balance makes this a dangerously drinkable and resippable beer. Share one...or lock yourself in your room with this one.
