Pours from the 22oz. bomber a deep, dark coppery-red with a finger of tight tan foam. Good carbonation, decent retention and a fair bit of lace left clinging. Appealing to the eye.
A healthy sweet fruity and heavily hopped nose, much like it's Nugget Nectar kin. Spicy sweet hop up front with some mild earthen malt in the background.
Bitter-sweet hops bursting with flavor on the intro that barely give way to a faint maltiness. Big hop flavors of grapefruit, pineapple, tangelo and such. Two-thirds of the way through another blast of bitter astringent hops kick in to finish it off. Bittery clean citric finish with some carbonation sting to the tongue. This stuff almost makes Bigfoot seem like an English BW...it's that hoppy.
Big body with big hops that tone the alcohol down in the nose and flavor. You do get the warming after a few sips however. A little higher ABV wouldn't hurt this one at all.
Overall...very drinkable and very tasty with great potential for ageing. Wish I had more. A big thanks to Aaron for this treat!
