Bottle from 2011, poured into a Weyberbacher glass. I've had the Mouflan several times before, but never aged.
Poured with two thick fingers of frothy tan head, and a nice clear mahogany body. Smells like sticky toffee pudding and raisins... yum! Great taste as well, the age really mellowed the booziness and brought out malty characteristics. Still some hoppy bitterness lingering as well, but much more subdued than when fresh. Lots of sweetness and caramel. Light to medium body, smooth and still lots of bubbly carbonation. Easy finish.
This is definitely one of my favorite barleywines, and the age mellowed it a little, which I enjoyed. Excellent!
