Poured from the bottle into my Dogfish Head snifter glass. No noticeable bottling date however, this has been out now for sometime.
Sick creamy toffee like head with lots of creamy whipped up leopard like lacing with tiny stuck shampoo bubbles on top. Body is a very dark ruby purple/blood like color. Nice top of whispy caramel light colored toffee that always stays while drinking.
Nose is hop forward soft pine, dried dark fruits of prune, some dried apricot and some sugar/cinnamon. Hop bent has a sense of English IPA herbal tea angle also. This is really nice!
Creamy texture with more herbal notes of hop. Malt softness and almost cherry sour fruit in the palate. Slight dryness in the middle but then brings a wet thick coating thirst desire. Creamy texture and coating, highly masked sense of boozy character. Fruit sense sort of lost in the taste detected from the nose no real dried fruit taste as the tea like soft hop dominates.
Overall this is really well done. These guys made a real solid barleywine.
