22oz. bottle poured into my FFF's imperial pint...
Pours a thin black with a great cascading effect from the vigorous pour...a nice two finger tan head quickly forms and leaves in the same way...some slight lacing I guess...
Like most stouts...coffee, dark roasted malts and a bit of chocolate in the nose...
Initially bitter from the burnt coffee flavor, with some bitter dark chocolate as well. Hops show themselves a bit as the beer warms...becomes a bit less coffee-like and bitter the more I drink and the warmer it becomes, that's when a slight chocolate sweetness emerges...
Decent medium body with good carbonation. A bit thin on the palette, but after all this isn't an imperial stout, so I guess that can be expected...
Not bad, I am generally not a fan of coffee stouts, or coffee in general so I am already biased against this beer. However, I liked it more than my pre-conceived notions indicated...
