*First and foremost, my scores reflect Batch 1, while the words reflect Batch 2*
This beer is still a Brett'd Triple, people need to remember that....
Bottle at the Brewery, review #650!
A - Pours hazy golden orange with a nice one and a half finger tall white head, dissipating down to a light film, leaving small strings of lace down parts of the glass. Nowhere near as much carbonation as Batch 1 had.
S - Smells of mild sugary sweetness, decent amount of barnyard funk from all that brett, white wine and oak from the barrels and a touch of booze. A bit of tropical fruitiness comes out as it warms to room temperature. A simple, yet complex nose.
T - Much like the nose, this one starts off with a dose of sugary sweetness that quickly gives way to hints of oak tannins, mild citric fruit, white grape skins and plenty of horse blanket / barnyard funk. Booze is ever present but it doesn't really ever become a major player. Finish is quite dry, leaving the palate dried long after the finish.
M - Medium body with moderate to high carbonation. Fizzy feel that slowly dies down over the coarse of the glass. Nowhere near as bone dry as Batch 1 was, that was nearly Champaign.
O - This is still one of the better Wild Ale's out there. I personally preferred Batch 1 by a wide margin, that bone dry feel just had me coming back for more and more, but this batch has the potential to be just as good or better in the long run. If you ever have the chance to try this one I strongly suggest you do, you won't be disappointed.
