Pours a clear amber with an off-white head. Good head retention and the carbonation allows this to be approachable and pleasant on the palate.
Subtle hints of citrusy hops in the nose backed by a smooth malt flavor. The finish is dry with a fresh, pine-like hop note with a slight biscuity malt afterglow. My personal preference is to have a maltier amber, as opposed to the hop punch that this ale carries, but this is a nice departure from my usual expectations. Exhibits exceptional balance on the palate. Crisp, refreshing and highly drinkable.
I found that this works quite nicely as a beer to use in beer batter for fish n' chips. Add a dash of this to a creole mayo to accompany your fish n' chips. Of course, you might as well drink one of these while frying your fish. And what better to pair with said fish!
