Pour is a nice dark copper/amber with a half finger of dense off white head fading rapidly. Scant lacing.
Nose is rather sweet, notes of caramel, orange, honey, and just a slight hint of bourbon.
Taste is equally sweet up front, big burst of caramelly malt, earthiness, and a bit more of the soft bourbon flavor. Maybe it's a peaty flavor I'm getting? Follows quickly by a blast of dry, bitter hops. Nice touches of stickiness and pine, but lingering dryness.
Feel is pretty medium full, if not totally full. Feels very thick in the mouth.
Nice beer. balance between the sweet and the bitter is a little too much of a stark contrast for my palate, but good flavors seperately.
