One of the first craft beers I tried way back yonder. First time I've had it in quite some time, Looks like it says bottled 12/1/12. Anyways, poured into a Tröegs pint glass.
Appearance: Deep clear amber. One finger of beige head. Pretty good retention and some nice lacing here and there.
Aroma: Spicy, floral hop notes, hints of orange peel. Toasted and caramel malt.
Taste: Nice little floral hop spiciness leads off. Toasted, bready caramel malt creaminess bats clean up. End of the lineup brings some of that dry, spicy hoppiness back in mixed with a little citrus zest. Fine, well-crafted and balanced beer.
Mouthfeel: Medium body with a tight carbonation. That hop bite tingles the tongue a little but is kept in check with smooth malt balance. Somewhat of a dry finish. Could knock back a few of these...
Still a solid reliable beer. A good starting point. if you wanna get someone into craft. Worked for me.
