Average, to slightly above average ipa. Best quality is balance. Easy drinker. Sweet nose, good bitter notes, finishes dry. It disappeared quickly.

solid, but not mindbending, good but nothing special, if you can find this, chances are you can by 90 minute ipa from dogfish head, buy that it's better

Nice and smooth IPA. My first beer on BA. New to the game and glad I wasn't disappointed.

Had this in a six pack of bottles and then later on draft. A solid beer from Tröegs that has a great hoppy profile and a light body. Overall it's easy to drink but it's not a heavy hitting DIPA. Drinks and feels more like a single IPA. Overall good but not great.

Had on-tap at Shadrach's at The Heritage in Southbury, CT.

Appearance - Served up in a pint glass, this brew is crystal clear and golden yellow in color with a broke, razor thin white head. Spotty lacing with good stick.

Smell - Aroma hits on orange with lesser grapefruit and pineapple notes.

Taste - Follows the nose. Orange rind bitterness at the forefront. Hints of pineapple, then a grapefruit pith bitterness in the finish. A touch of tangerine sweetness. Not much for a malt backbone; this thing is a pure hop bomb.

Mouthfeel - On the lighter side of medium with a tingly carbonation. A little rough considering the bitterness, then a dry finish.

Overall - Decent IPA that suffers from a lack of balance. My lupulin threshold is pretty high these days, and it's been a long while since I've IBU's attack my palate like this. While I appreciate the challenge, it's a testament to the lack of balance this beer displays.

Bought it 5/5/15 after started drinking say caned dated was 3/2/15. A little too old for an IPA so I assume it was just because it was old. Will find a fresher one and update this

5/8/15 Gladstone Bar

Sat at bar and could smell the hops as it was poured. The look is generic, looks like a regular old beer. The taste is loaded with one particular hop. Not exactly sure what it is. Cascade? Whatever it is there's tons of it. Tastes good lingers on the tounge as bitter. This beer is a roller coaster with ups and downs. Interesting but not sure how quick it will get old.

12 oz bottle bottled 3/31/15 poured into an IPA glass

A - Mostly clear, golden orange with a two finger fluffy head and a slight haze.

S - Grapefruit, citrus.

T - Follows the nose, with some bready malts, and a piney bitter finish.

M - Carbonation medium low, smooth.

O - A straight forward, well executed IPA

From notes on 3/15/15

Very light body. Bitter light flower taste. Refreshing and drinkable. You don’t notice the alcohol at all.

On tap at a local restaurant in a 16 oz. lager glass.

Dark yellow color, very little head, some aeration and lacing.

Aroma of hops and citrus. Very inviting and refreshing smell. Oh my!

Taste: Despite citrusy aroma, no citrusy flavor at all. This beer is all hoppy malts and barley. The largest taste that emerges is that of noble hops. Not much complexity, but delicious hops all the way.

Mouthfeel: Some hoppy bitterness toward the end. Very pleasant and tasty.

All in all, loved this beer. Gorgeous aromas of citrus and hops. Very narrow taste of noble hops, no citrus. Nice.

Easy drinking, near double? IPA. Nothing too strong, hop balanced with mild hops, clean. Nice alchoholy, hop mix smell. Malt presence is minimal, slight lemony, citrus taste. Easy bite fades quickly. Clean and smooth mouthfeel, flavor is good, doesn't linger too long. Liked it, sessionable.

Overall, an extremely solid and boldly hopped beer. Cascade hops jump out in the smell and the taste. A light caramel look but overall Troegs did the IPA right with this one!
