Received this delight from Gibby out in Philly. I’ve heard good things and I really enjoyed the first bottle I tried. Drank from my Ithaca Nonic Pint glass.

Appearance- Pours a crystal clear light yellow with hints of orange and a big frothy bright white head. Plenty of rich lacing strewn about my glass from the nice cap and collar.
Smell- Nice and fruity with a touch of pineapple and grapefruit. Actually the more I smell the more that grapefruit pith really comes out. Maybe a touch of orange peel but for the most part the grapefruit dominates. A light touch of caramel malts but not a whole lot in the nose.
Taste- Starts with a grassy bitter bite that quickly turns fruity and lush. The grapefruit I got in the nose is definitely in full force in the taste as well. It’s bitter and pithy with hints of passion fruit and peach. Maybe a touch more sweetness that I usually like but it’s okay here for some reason. There’s a doughy sort of toast in the background from the malt but it’s pretty tame. The 7.5% is nowhere to be found.
Mouthfeel- Nice feel here. The beer is full bodied with nice light carbonation and feels oily and smooth.
Drinkability- Really nice beer that is extremely easy drinking and pretty damned tasty. I’m definitely not always a fan of Troegs IPA’s but they did a great job this time. Thanks much Jeff, mucho enjoyable!

Poured into a standard pint glas a clear light golden with one finger white head atop that held well.Big pithy hops in the nose, grapefruit really stood out, really fresh and in you face.A big shot of citric hops at the onset with a big sweetish caramel base coming into play midway, more sugary sweetness in the finish.Started out great, and was a really good DIPA,but there was some big sweetness in there as well.

Thanks to Kevin for hitting this want of mine. Perpetual pours out a mostly golden color with some faint orange tints around the edges, top, and bottom of the brew. There's a nice clarity throughout, and its only mildly obscured by a small chill haze. A white head grows up quickly but settles nearly as fast to a wimpy little bubbly skin and collar that, sadly, leaves no lace in its path.

I dip my nose into the glass and the first whiff is promising me good things. Dank, oily, and mildly pungent hops clash with lots of grapefruit juice and vivid citrus peel. Like a late night sesh with the fruit-alicious munchies. A brash of pines bats clean up; you can feel the bitterness creeping up in the aroma with time, along with some mild spicy pepper. This is a hop-heavy sucker, no doubt.

One sip and you're walking through hills of hops; mild white pepper and ashy pines run amok. Vigorous hop oils all over your face, dank resins and a bitter grapefruit peels smack your pie-hole and jump to epic proportions very quickly. Bitterness starts off small but grows exponentially into the back end, and starts scraping the back of the tongue like a pickaxe in the finish.

There isn't much noticeable malt, so the hops stand out even more. Despite being so hop-centric and bitter, it's actually quite refined and drinkable when all things are considered. This bottle is quite fresh, and the raw how power confirms it. Medium bodied with a light sticky quality on the palate; carbonation is medium, pretty good for the style with a slick, oily, lightly resinous mouth feel.

Yum! I've wanted to try this beer for a while, though that doesn't mean I necessarily had crazy expectations for it or anything. It was actually a bit better than I thought it would be, and what's even better is that it's a year-round brew. A very nice brew for the dank-heads out there who need to get their hop oil fix but don't feel like taking alpha acids straight to the vein. Very nice IPA, enjoyable from start to finish.

12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass.

Pours a clean yellow to orange-ish color with an off white head. In the aroma, grapefruit and orange citrus hops. In the taste, dry citrus rinds, and somewhat pine like. A small hop bite and medium bodied mouthfeel, with a small dry trace of hops in the aftertaste. Big nose and mellow taste, lack of aftertaste, good but mellow

I like this as an above average IPA by comparison but as an "Imperial" IPA, which it bills itself", I feel it's no higher than barely average.

Great summer IPA. Nice clear pale yellow to straw in color, with white head that dissipated rather quickly. Smell is a bit lacking. Faintly watery, the hops smells good, but not quite as present as I'd like. Taste is wonderful though. What this beer lacks in aroma, it quickly makes up for in taste. Superbly grassy and a wonderful floral hoppiness to it. I get some apricot and a sweetness that I can only describe as when you chew on Dallisgrass on a hot day.
