Reviewed from notes. Twelve oz. bottle hand-delivered from NYC. Poured into a Westbrook pint glass.

A: Clear gold, with a one-finger white head that fades quickly on top of a few bubbles of visible carbonation.

S: Pine, citrus and tropical fruit hops over some light malt sweetness. Not a big nose at all.

T: Grapefruit, citrus rind and pine resin with a clean light malt sweetness without particular caramel aspects. Significantly more bitterness through the swallow and the hang than expected.

M: Light body, carbonation sensation on the low side, low alcohol presence.

O: I thought when I was drinking this it was an American IPA. Then I see it listed on here as an IIPA. After closer examination of the bottle, I see it indicated as an "Imperial Pale Ale". I have no idea what that's supposed to be, but this sure didn't drink like an IIPA. It's an adequate IPA, nothing particular to complain about. It just doesn't quite hit the right notes in aroma and flavor.

Pours a golden amber with a medium off white head slowly dissipating to a razor thin lasting through out with moderate lacing. Aroma of floral citrus hops, grapefruit, caramel malt, yeast and fruity notes. Taste same as aroma with some flavorful tangy grapefruit notes. A medium body on the palate, good carbonation with a smooth sweet bitter tangy mouth feel. Finished with sweet caramel malt, yeast fruity balanced by some floral citrus hops with a slightly tangy grapefruit ending. Overall a very good, flavorful and solid IPA.

Bottle into a pint glass, which couldn't contain the head. It took a minute until I could fit a 12 oz bottle into a 16 oz glass.

A--Clear & golden. Thick head that dies down while leaving excellent lacing. Looks like a beer should.
S--Citrusy & piney.
T--Excellent. A nice balance between the hoppiness and the underlying malt. The citrus & pine from the nose carry through to the taste.
M--An odd balance between crisp and creamy. It feels creamy in the mouth, and crisp after being swallowed.
O--This beer kicks ass. A wonderful drink for the summer. I'd suggest having a couple, but at home, not on the road, as it's a little bit on the strong side.
