Bottle into a pint glass, which couldn't contain the head. It took a minute until I could fit a 12 oz bottle into a 16 oz glass.

A--Clear & golden. Thick head that dies down while leaving excellent lacing. Looks like a beer should.
S--Citrusy & piney.
T--Excellent. A nice balance between the hoppiness and the underlying malt. The citrus & pine from the nose carry through to the taste.
M--An odd balance between crisp and creamy. It feels creamy in the mouth, and crisp after being swallowed.
O--This beer kicks ass. A wonderful drink for the summer. I'd suggest having a couple, but at home, not on the road, as it's a little bit on the strong side.

Pours a crystal clear straw yellow. I've never seen a DIPA that looks like this. Lots of fluffy, sudsy, slightly off-white head. Big chunks of lace. Mild retention, however. Lots of carbonation

Smells of vibrant fruits. Sweetened grapefruit, juicy oranges, a bit of pineapple. Honeyed biscuits. Some lemon zest. I'm getting some spice that actually makes me think coriander. Some notes of pine and grass on the end

Sweet malts hit first. Caramel and honey. Some fruity esters come in next and linger throughout. I'm picking up lemons, oranges, grapefruit, even pineapple and pear. The hops are a bit subdued but provide some nice bittering citrus and pine notes on the finish

Feels light and refreshing, yet juicy and bright. Off dry. Very quaffable

Overall a really nice change of pace from the super malty or super hoppy DIPAs I've had. Extremely well-balanced and complex. No flavor has been sacrificed. Just goes to show you that Troegs makes fantastic beer. Period

Perpetual IPA is an excellent, hop-forward beer from Troegs, fruity and fresh enough to be satisfying during the summer, yet also heavy enough to be adequate for a winter day's drink. At under $10 per six-pack, one that's worth seeking out and trying repeatedly.

Pours a 1.5cm tall head of slightly off-white foam, made up of small-sized bubbles, with average retention of about one minute. The foam fades to a thin cap atop the body of the beer, leaving significant and interesting patterns of lacing attached to the walls of the glass. Beer is a transparent, fairly light yellow-orange color, with light bringing out brighter yellow hues. Carbonation is visible, fairly active, rising along the sides and center of the glass.

Aroma is of bright, citrusy hops with obvious grapefruit and pine resin references, more subtle peach and apricot. There's also an element of hoppy body odor, as from a shirt that's been used at the gym for a few days and then rubbed with hops.

Overall flavor is fruity (citrus and some tropical), with solid bitterness and lesser pine and caramel malt sweetness. Opens with bright fruits: sweetened grapefruit, guava, peach, nectarine, and light caramelized sugars. Mid-palate of spicy, peppery hops with strong fruity flavors (grapefruit, orange, peach, nectarine, guava) and medium-high bitterness. Back of palate picks up yet stronger, spicier hops with more apparent caramel malt and a subdued grapefruit and guava flavor. Aftertaste is of solid hop bitterness with strong flavors of grapefruit rind and an undertone of caramel malt.

Beer is medium-bodied with carbonation of medium intensity, resulting in a beer that is never fizzy, but manages to be quite soft and foamy as it moves across the palate. Closes quite dry, with low stickiness remaining on the palate.
