Appearance - pours a beautiful yellow-orange with a nice soft head, leaving some nice lacing on the glass after just a couple sips. This is a nice, clear, filtered IPA.

Smell - citrus, grapefruit, the promise of a sweet peachy ipa; not over the top. Just right

Taste - WOW. This is one of the best IPA's I have had in a very long time. It is near perfect. Balanced, a little battle between bitter and sweet - has a real east coast feel to me. Doesn't hit you over the head with hops. Troegs nailed this one.

Mouthfeel - Looks thinner than it tastes; you feel it right away on the tip of your tongue, although it is silent in between and then bang - hits you with the bitterness at the end.

Overall - this is quickly becoming one of my favorite beers. Right up there with Dogfish 75 minute IPA. You need to get this, now.

Poured into a snifter.

A: Clear golden yellow with one-and-a-half-finger, white, foamy head that lasted a couple of minutes and left a nice film. Great lacing.

S: Pineapple and tropical fruit. Toasted malt.

T: Light to moderate sweetness and moderate bitterness. Biscuit malt and pine. Lighter on the tropical fruit taste than the nose hinted at.

M: Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Crisp and refreshing.

O: Solid Double IPA. Nice and refreshing. Drinkable. A bit light on the alcohol for a Double IPA though.

Bottle pours a clear golden colour with minimal head and no lacing. Aroma was almost overwhelmingly of the proverbial “cat urine” or rotten melon after the initial pour, but has dissipated in the last 10 minutes and now offers a much more pleasant tropical fruit with a resiny background.

Flavour is much better balanced, with mango, pineapple and other tropical fruits combined with tangerine and other citrus elements, plus the pine resin backbone. There is enough malted barley to fill out the body nicely. The high ABV is scarily well hidden and the finish lingers with an abject bitterness for an impressive length of time...

Definitely not a “session ale”, but a beer I would recommend to any hop lover and one I would purchase again.

Pours a deep orange color with a solid 1-2 finger head at the outset. Some lacing on the sides of the glass. Head excites fairly easy with a bit of a swirl. Aroma is definite hops - floral and pine are the dominant characteristics. Taste is hop bitterness up front through the finish - same hops as via the nose - good flavor but for a DIPA not the most hop forward.
