12oz, summer 2012
A: Pours a really cloudy, overly dark yellow color. About a half finger of bright white head. Might be leaving a touch of lacing.
S: Definitely getting those spices: coriander and clove and orange. Traditional wheat beer spice. Pretty much it.
T: Right up front, I get lots of clove and coriander. Very spice forward. It's actually one of my favorite wheat beers this season, as I like the slice and wheat combo. It's refreshing for sure. Finish leaves you wanting another sip.
M: Light bodied.

Poured from the bottle into a tulip glass.
Appearance: The beer pours a clear golden color with just under a half finger of thick, creamy white head. The head fades to a thick ring around the glass.
Smell: Light with a nice sweet component from the malt. I'm getting some bright citrus fruit along with a Belgian yeast component. The spices are quite nice with the yeast.
Taste: The spices bring it strong here. I'm getting a coriander note here that goes well with the Belgian yeast. The spice flavor might be a bit too dominant. Just a hint of sweetness and banana with a spicy finish.
Mouthfeel: The mouthfeel is medium with smooth carbonation and a dry finish.
Overall: The spice profile could have been a bit more refined, but I still liked the beer. I'd have more if they made this a normal offering.

Pleasant wit, bottle from from Capone’s restaurant. A good spice mix made this tasty and drinkable. Good above average mouthfeel. Good choice of spices including star anise, cinammon, and white pepper. Lasting head. A Belgian styled, with some American ingenuity.

First review with the expanded ratings amounts.
I'm a big fan of Troegs Scratch Series and this is another good beer.
The color is on the lighter side of yellow and hazy.
Not so much aroma. What is there is a sweet wheat beer smell.
Taste is right on for a wit, the banana in the background and the spices being the dominant flavor.
Very light and refreshing. As with most of the scratch beer I wish they would return but they usually don't

A- Cloudy pale orange body with a very thick white head that stays around. Some carbonation bubbles rise from the bottom of the glass.
S- Citrus, orange zest, grainy spices and even some Belgian bready yeast.
T- Spices and yeast come through towards the end after a smooth citrus taste.
M- Smooth with good carbonation.
O- Good wit. Nose gives a great preview of the flavors coming through.

Dim Wit? DMB Wit? I assume this is the same scratch beer. Dont know what caused the name change but whatever here we go. 12oz bottle poured into a matching Troegs pint glass. The brew pours a clouded yellow with a billowy white head more than a finger strong that is fluffy. The cap fades leaving some spotty lace and a light swirl revives a finger back to the surface.
The aroma is spicy with clove and some dried fruits like banana, pear and apple. More smells bring out notes of the included peppercorns. Overall, the nose is well blended with the previously described character not outweighing one another. As the brew warms up, a bit of wheat grain comes forward sealing the package.
The taste includes some tart wheat that brings forth minor flavoring of lemon and orange zest that immediately blends into peppercorns. A flavor of spicy clove is present throughout the entire experience. A mild touch of banana at times along with other fruit like the previously described pear or apple but that is really faint in comparison. The aftertaste has a bit of herbal inclusion that is the only indication of hops.
This is a medium to light bodied brew with a moderate amount of carbonation. Overall, this is pretty much spot on for the style. I enjoyed this brew mostly because of it's integration of flavors without anything overpowering the rest. A pretty solid take on a wit. Worth a try if you get a chance.
