Had this on 2012-12-28 in Hershey, PA at the brewery. Note, this firkin is part of the Full Moon series. From the Troeg's website:
"Well folks, it appears that the Mayans were full of it. Yes indeed, the planet is still intact, so what better way to celebrate than with a few firkins of our Doomsday beer? We will tap the first firkin of ¿Impending Descent? at 3 p.m. on Friday, December 28. We’ve doused this already outlandish beer with even more goodies to intensify the flavor profile – vanilla beans, Mexican cinnamon, and a fruit blend of cherries and raisins prepared especially by our chef. Don’t wait for another Mayan faux pas. The earth survived… and so did the moon!"
A - Very dark brown with a 1.5 finger fluffy brown head and good lacing.
S - Quite different than the original batch with a big dollop of raisin bread added to the abundant aromas of dark bitter chocolate, dark roasted grain, and hop spiciness.
T - Toasted raisin bread plus cherries and vanilla to compliment the original dark and semi-sweet chocolate, very dark roasted grain, vegetal, char, figgy pudding, molasses, expresso, and roasted bitterness. Finish is quite a bit sweeter than the original.
M - Thick body and light-medium carbonation. Creamy, rich, a bit too syrupy.
O - I enjoyed this holiday-themed twist but preferred the original significantly more.

12oz bottle into tulip. Thanks Josh!
A: Pours black and viscous with a dense finger of mocha colored head that slowly faded into a faint collar.
S: Huge and rich notes of deep dark malt, dark chocolate, sweet fudge brownie, leather, and maybe a hint of dark fruit. Very rich smelling but there is not a trace of alcohol to be found.
T: Follows the nose with potent flavors of lightly bitter dark chocolate, sweet fudge, deep roasted malt, and dark leather. I get notes of blackberry and dark fruits in the finish, and the aftertaste is full of lingering chocolate and roast.
M: Huge full body, viscous and extremely chewy mouthfeel, and very airy and frothy carbonation that bubbles up in my mouth after each sip. No trace of alcohol burn, almost no bitterness. Very smooth and decadent.
O: I was pleasantly surprised by how good this one was. Nothing the most complex stout, but it doesn’t have anything off putting to me. I never had it fresh, but after couple years in the bottle this is drinking perfectly. Thanks again StormKing47.

A dark tan head rests calm and thick across this black and brown brew.
Aroma is rich with milk chocolate, caramel, plum and raisin. Got mincemeat? Yes.
Tastes dry and woody up front. Its syrupy with the caramel finding place after a few sips. Some cardamom, dark fruit and licorice find their way. Can be astringent at times.
Heavy for sure, but warming all the way through makes for a nice sipper on a cool spring eve.
