**Service has improved a bit, bumping it up .25**

I figure since I have visited this place about 100 times since they opened over a year ago it might be time to sit down and actually write up a review, my 50th place review to be exact.

The atmosphere is hard to describe. The space is huge with people sitting all over the place. The large bar area and the big beer hall table seem to be peoples favorites, with the outside seating area getting a lot of use in the warmer weather months. The walking tour is a really cool feature and the general store sells any and all things Troegs for people looking for some swag or to buy some beer to go, just be aware that the general store closes before the bar area does.

The service has been hit or miss since the day they opened. I used to have to wait a LONG time to get even the simplest of service but I have to say it has definitely improved over the last few months. The wait times have become shorter and they have finally hired some people who know what they are talking about...

The quality is top notch. The beers are, for the most part, world class and the food is all made with the highest grade ingredients. They use all the correct glasses and they have a counter pressure filler for growlers, however they will still fill screw tops off the taps.

The selection is what you would expect for a brewery. They have their six flagship, year round beers on at all times to go along with a few of the seasonal offerings. They usually have at least one scratch beer on, sometimes up to 3-4 depending on how fast they are selling / making them.

The snack bar is a new thing they have been doing for the last six or so months. They offer quite a few different things to eat, enough to satisfy most picky diners. I have tried about 2/3 of the menu now, altho it is ever changing, and it is all excellent. A few of my current favorites would include the large brewers pretzel, the pork confit tacos and the crispy pork belly. The prices at the snack bar are a little high for my taste but most of the items are worth it.

Overall a HUGE upgrade over the old harrisburg location and a welcome addition to the area. I look forward to visiting the brewery for many years to come.

Over all this was a great place. The food is not your average bar fair. Upscale actually. The only reason I gave it a lower rating for service is because there is no table service for food. It is carnival style service, I can't say it is because of the law because I know of no other place in PA that serves food this way. The beer is awesome and the selection is outstanding with many beers on tap from their regular line up as well as about 20-25 others that you will only see at the brewery.

First off, I love the atmosphere in this place. My first time here I came late summer and it was bright and sunny. Sitting outside looking at the beautiful Pennsylvanian hills out front was a real treat. I like how in the area of the self-guided tour there are more tables which are typically vacant, even when it's packed in the main area. They have decent year-round beers but their seasonal selections are where they shine. Nugget Nectar in the spring. Mad Elf in the winter. Need I say more? The scratch beers are hit-or-miss, so I'd maybe ask for a sample. On my most recent trip I sampled Scratch's 136 and 138, the red ale and Belgian Brown. The red ale was awful. I consumed maybe 2 ounces before opting for the far superior Nugget Nectar. The Belgian Brown was okay. I brought home a six-pack of scratch 137 IPA. That was a phenomenal brew. I wish I tried it fresh on tap. Oh well.

This past weekend was my second time coming here and Hershey Park is currently not open. Even so, the parking lot was 100% to capacity that Saturday night. We were lucky enough to get a spot in the parking lot, as someone was leaving while we were driving through, but be prepared to park next door and do a little walking. The merch store was also really nice and I got a delicious honey barbecue sauce. As a vegetarian there weren't many food options, but what I did eat was pretty good (three-cheese grilled cheese). The Bavarian pretzel, and especially the mustard, was delicious.

If you are in the area, definitely come check this place out. If you are considering coming to Pennsylvania just for a brewery experience, I recommend hitting up both Troegs and Victory, which is about an hour 15 minutes east, for an excellent beercation.

Been here many times. Great place. Food is ordered at a cashier. You get a buzzer to get it to pick up when when ready. Food is a cut above. Beers are very good. Some are excellent. Good self or guided tours.

I hate the brothers (owners), love most of the beer line, and this is not your "normal" brewery, pub, bar food (can only recommend the popcorn!). There's always a "Scratch" brew on the board which is typically unavailable anywhere else.

Really great food, scratch beers are typically interesting. Nice little gift shop. Knock for me since I'm local is that it's gets incredibly busy in the summer time since it's at the center of a major tourist destination.

The self guided tour is super lame. If you are traveling to get here, plan way ahead to book a tasting tour. The main area is crowded, loud and service is crazy hard to get, as well as getting food.

Very good and consistent quality. I enjoy all of their beers (except Dreamweaver-not a fan of wheat beers).

This place is really a brewer's dream come true. The dining area is delightfully integrated into a fancy brewing area, separated only by the bar. Why there is not a paper place-mat with a guide to all of the fancy stainless steel is beyond me. I can't think of any other place where these two elements are so delightfully integrated. Food is ordered and picked up at the far end of the room, which really makes things a lot easier. Also, there is a pretty straight forward self-guided tour, which was a nice touch.

The food was a mix. First of all, I had the best pretzel of my entire life there; no exaggeration. It was rolled in spent barley, and simply perfect. However, the poutine fries were disgusting. They were close to a cross of mashed potatoes and french fries drenched in gravy. You could literally eat them with a spoon, which was decidedly unappetizing. Bad fries is bad fries. Next, we had the bratwurst, which was solid, but nothing special.

Troegs makes solid beer, so I can't say too much about this. Nothing amazing, but nothing you'd consider sending back.

Service was fine. As mentioned, we had to pick up our own food. The place was packed and there was a long line for beer, but we managed to get the bartender's attention at our seat on the far edge of the bar. Not too bad, but it could be terrible on a really busy day.

Not a bad place, but if you're a brewer or into the brewing process, this would be a really special experience. And for God's sake, order the pretzel!

Excellent, almost perfect. Guided tours were booked for at least a month of Saturdays but I went to tour desk and asked if there was any possibility of getting on tour for 23rd anniversary - we were on the next tour. Food was gourmet level, beer was delicious and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Only downside is 240 mile roundtrip!

Beautiful decor of creativity. Excellent self guided tour with graffiti artwork. Beers are top notch and always have a new limited experimental beer. Staff is helpful and knowledgable. Food is always interesting and unique. It's as good as the beer.

Had a nice tasting tour at their Hershey Brewery. The different beers we tasted were interesting and very different. Nice to sample such a wide variety of beers, and see the brewery process.

The public tasting room is large but inviting. The gift shop had a nice variety as well as both cans and bottles to take home.

Love Troegs. Great location these days, right down the street from the outlets and Hersheypark. Large, open floorplan akin to a German bierhall. Food selection seems to be expanding by the day. Great selection of all the staple beers on tap plus a bunch of Scratch series exclusives that are quite unique, some of which are bottled and available for purchase in the gift shop. A nice, self guided tour ending in the aforementioned store is a perfect way to do the brewery tour, with a nice little tasting area outside the shop to boot. Or, just take your glass in with you!

Make it a point to stop in if you're in the area!

A very large tasting room. Lots of people. Plenty of good beer.
A really long bar and attentive bar staffs ensures that your glass will not be empty for long.
Plenty of beer selection from their standard beers to the scratch series.
Last time I was there the misses and kids dropped me as they wanted to go to the outlets.
As this is a tasting room the food selection is quite limited.
But I don't go there for the food.
There is an awesome gift shop for your every need.
