I hate the brothers (owners), love most of the beer line, and this is not your "normal" brewery, pub, bar food (can only recommend the popcorn!). There's always a "Scratch" brew on the board which is typically unavailable anywhere else.

Really great food, scratch beers are typically interesting. Nice little gift shop. Knock for me since I'm local is that it's gets incredibly busy in the summer time since it's at the center of a major tourist destination.

The self guided tour is super lame. If you are traveling to get here, plan way ahead to book a tasting tour. The main area is crowded, loud and service is crazy hard to get, as well as getting food.

Smell the hops as you pull into this brewery in Hershey. Big shop on the right and even bigger beer hall as you walk up to the taps. Always a good variety of Troegs beers ready for Ruther pour. Love me some nugget nectar and mad elf. Very good dinner menu with some gastropub specialties such as poutine. A worthwhile stop.

This place is really a brewer's dream come true. The dining area is delightfully integrated into a fancy brewing area, separated only by the bar. Why there is not a paper place-mat with a guide to all of the fancy stainless steel is beyond me. I can't think of any other place where these two elements are so delightfully integrated. Food is ordered and picked up at the far end of the room, which really makes things a lot easier. Also, there is a pretty straight forward self-guided tour, which was a nice touch.

The food was a mix. First of all, I had the best pretzel of my entire life there; no exaggeration. It was rolled in spent barley, and simply perfect. However, the poutine fries were disgusting. They were close to a cross of mashed potatoes and french fries drenched in gravy. You could literally eat them with a spoon, which was decidedly unappetizing. Bad fries is bad fries. Next, we had the bratwurst, which was solid, but nothing special.

Troegs makes solid beer, so I can't say too much about this. Nothing amazing, but nothing you'd consider sending back.

Service was fine. As mentioned, we had to pick up our own food. The place was packed and there was a long line for beer, but we managed to get the bartender's attention at our seat on the far edge of the bar. Not too bad, but it could be terrible on a really busy day.

Not a bad place, but if you're a brewer or into the brewing process, this would be a really special experience. And for God's sake, order the pretzel!

Excellent, almost perfect. Guided tours were booked for at least a month of Saturdays but I went to tour desk and asked if there was any possibility of getting on tour for 23rd anniversary - we were on the next tour. Food was gourmet level, beer was delicious and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Only downside is 240 mile roundtrip!

Beautiful decor of creativity. Excellent self guided tour with graffiti artwork. Beers are top notch and always have a new limited experimental beer. Staff is helpful and knowledgable. Food is always interesting and unique. It's as good as the beer.

Had a nice tasting tour at their Hershey Brewery. The different beers we tasted were interesting and very different. Nice to sample such a wide variety of beers, and see the brewery process.

The public tasting room is large but inviting. The gift shop had a nice variety as well as both cans and bottles to take home.

Love Troegs. Great location these days, right down the street from the outlets and Hersheypark. Large, open floorplan akin to a German bierhall. Food selection seems to be expanding by the day. Great selection of all the staple beers on tap plus a bunch of Scratch series exclusives that are quite unique, some of which are bottled and available for purchase in the gift shop. A nice, self guided tour ending in the aforementioned store is a perfect way to do the brewery tour, with a nice little tasting area outside the shop to boot. Or, just take your glass in with you!

Make it a point to stop in if you're in the area!

If you are in the Hershey area a visit to this place is basically a must for the Troeg's fan.

The self guided tour area has plenty of space, the signs are well thought out and so if you've been through other breweries you can see what it is that Troeg's is doing and see a few of the things that make them a special place.

The shop is spacious and well stocked. This is definitely the place to come for the Scratch series of beers not only because its the only place to find them but because of the variety and the ability to get multiple different 6 packs for take away.

There is a bar where you can have a beer and there is some food service as well. I thought the snack food was fairly ordinary but the bartender knew what they were selling and was able to give a decent pour on the beer. The taps included several different beers so that choice was difficult... :-)

Didn't really have a full meal but those who were eating something substantial seemed to be doing just fine with it.

A very large tasting room. Lots of people. Plenty of good beer.
A really long bar and attentive bar staffs ensures that your glass will not be empty for long.
Plenty of beer selection from their standard beers to the scratch series.
Last time I was there the misses and kids dropped me as they wanted to go to the outlets.
As this is a tasting room the food selection is quite limited.
But I don't go there for the food.
There is an awesome gift shop for your every need.

Have visited the brewery several times now, so time for a review.

A very large seating area, plus outside seating as well, where they often have the grill going. Have gone there at various times, and while always busy, never had problems getting a seat. They have some very large tables, which can lead to sharing with some interesting folk. Booths and 4 seater tables as well. Very family friendly for a brewery, often lots of small kids having a good time. Start 'em, young!

Only beef on the atmosphere is because of high ceilings, wood floors, etc, it can get very noisy. Oddly enough, the bar area is usually quieter. Haven't eaten outside, so can't speak to that, but the brewery is along the main road, so...

Troegs has many quality beers, so no worries finding something great to sup. Usually a dozen or more to chose from. They do growlers (bottom filled) a 6 4.5oz sampler tray, and small tastes of whatever you want. Also several of their scratch series beers are available. They did still have Nugget Nectar in June, which surprised me, but were upfront about it being a different beer this late on.

Service I think is very good considering the often chaotic look to the place. Bar is well staffed, with folk who know their stuff. Food is by order and pick up. Wandering staff will stop at the table for refills, and to check if you need anything. They even have parking guides to get people in and out safely, which is good because the parking lot entrance is a bit dodgy at times. They have a large gift shop for beer, souveniers, etc, and will lend you handtrucks for cases, or take the beer out to your car for you. There are both led and self guided tours

Food is in my opinion, top notch. My wife, who doesn't care for beer is happy to be the designated driver as long as she gets to eat there. Artisanal in nature, Duck comfit, lamb sausage, are some recent selections, even clams. They have a good kids menu too, usual stuff kids will eat, bumped up a notch. Most items are between $6.00 & $14.00, very reasonable for the quality. Have seen a few mega plates of fries, and large soft pretzels, always good soaker ups for beer.

Overall, a great place for lunch, dinner, or a few beers after work. Cheers!

Love the large wooden table and the outside seating. Food items are very basic but perfect for the setting, the walk through self guided tour is nice and the bottle shop has one-off selections.
Certainly a weekend haunt for out of town visitors as during the week its fairly quite.

Conveniently located at the start of Hersheypark Drive.
The place was pretty well packed when I got there with the family on a Sunday afternoon. Only did the self-guided tour this time since this wasn't planned that far ahead in advance, will definitely reserve a tour in the future.
The Tasting Room was pretty well packed and there needs to be more seating, which is why I had to give a lower rating on the service, but the servers I did encounter and deal with were friendly.
We only ordered a small desert while there, but the food we did see coming from the snack bar looked and smelled phenomenal!
The bar area had a short line for growler fills and drink purchases on the one end, which was helpful as like I said it was packed!
The gift shop has plenty of the usual fare: T-shirts, hats, stickers and a nice selection of Troeg's glassware.
I will definitely be making the hour drive back out to Hershey again with a couple friends to hang out while the wife takes the kids to Hershey Park for the day in the summer time.

Visited with my wife and we loved the place. It is located pretty much at the entrance road to Hershey Park. It was packed, we had to wait to park until someone left. Great food, fantastic beer selection on tap. I've become a Troegs fan. The only reason for the low rating on service was that the place was so busy there really wasn't any table service to speak of. But samples at the bar were served by friendly and knowledgable staff and the food at the snack counter was great. Try the brown butter popcorn if they have it. Great souvenir store as well. Can't wait to go back, if you are in the area this is definitely worth a visit.

Atmosphere: Awesome brewery, place is a piece of art. Not a spec of dirt anywhere, place is immaculate. Have been here twice, I recommend going during the week. On a weekend, place is swamped and extremely hard to find any type of seating or tours.

Quality: Troegs makes awesome beers, but on tap at the brewery they are a different animal. Everything extremely crisp tasting.

Service: Everyone was pretty awesome there. All very nice, quick, prompt, and seem to really dig when you wear a cool beer shirt because I have gotten a numerous compliments on just shirts from employees.

Selection: All year rounds, seasonals, and a few scratches. If luckily, they will have a special 750 available.

Food: The real high light of the whole place. I mean its seriously food you would expect to see at a high end restaurant, with many innovative snacks. Ahi Tuna, oysters, soups, hop oil french fries, pretzels, popcorn, ect.

Value: Beers are resonably prices, usually $5 a pour for the regulars and seasonals, while higher ABV beers reach $7 for a snifter. Food prices are a little high, but the quality is unreal so I didn't mind paying for it.

Great tasting room. A little different from the typical restaurant/pub attached to a brewery or just a tasting bar in the gift shop.

Tour was thorough and gave you a good look at the brewing process and a little about Troegs. Better than many tours I've been on.

The set-up is great in that you can give them a card and then all you have to do is give one of the servers canvasing the room your name or give your name to someone at the "snack bar" your name. No set waiter, just plenty of people roaming to help with whatever you need.

Gift shop is nice. Overall the place is huge and makes you feel like you are in the brewery rather than just a restaurant/bar serving their beers.

I could see that some people might think this place is a little overdone or like a big marketing machine, but highly recommend making a stop here.

I had an extremely pleasant visit to the brewery, brewpub, and store on Saturday 12-128-13.
Immaculate interior, well designed, friendly, open, and overall a great visual presentation. The staff is friendly, informative, and helpful. The beer on tap is wonderful as always. The food was excellent, prices reasonable. Easy in, and easy out. One can't ask for much more.
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and I will return in 2 weeks for a longer visit.

Large brewpub area, plenty of seating, but it can get crowded. Food is great, but there is no servers waiting on tables. The drafts are only troegs selections, and can be very underwelming at times. The retail shop is large, and sells their beer along with the usual shirts, pint glasses, etc.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere at this brewery. Very open with the feeling of actually being inside the brewery while you are sitting/tasting/eating. Service was great, and the beer selection was excellent, with some beers that can only be sampled there. The sampler trays were substantial and you could sample about 12 different beers for around $15. And don't plan on driving anywhere if you do! Unfortunately I only got to do the self guided tour, but the layout of the brewery really allows you to see all aspects of the brewing process. Gift shop and beer store were also good, and you could buy cases of the limited batches that are only available at the brewery.

My girlfriend and I decided that it was time to visit the new brewery; we had toured and tasted at the old location a couple years ago.

We had signed up for a tour online prior to our visit. The tour was very interesting even though brewery tours kind of all seem the same after a while. It was 5 dollars per person, which includes a special shaker pint glass and tastings while on the tour. The tour guide was very informative and definitely knew her stuff. The tour and tastings covered about an hour.

Afterwards we decided to grab a couple drinks and some food in the tap room. The room is very large and open, and there’s plenty of tables and bar space. The brewing setup is behind the bar on an elevated platform, so you can watch as the brewers work their magic. I’m not sure how crowded it usually gets; we were there on a Monday afternoon so it was relatively empty. I could imagine it getting loud if it was filled to capacity due to the high ceilings.
The Splinter Brown had been released a week or two before, and since it was limited to consumption at the brewery due to carbonation issues it had hung around for a bit. It was excellent but at 8+% we limited ourselves to one bottle to share. Since we were hungry we bought some rosemary popcorn and fries coated in a hop oil. Both were delicious. We bought a smoked chicken mole enchilada to share, which was also delicious. We wrapped up with a shared glass of the Scratch 119 Mushroom Ale. They pulled it off well; if I didn’t already know there were mushrooms in it I wouldn’t have been able to guess. The only things I might have gotten from them was a slight earthiness. It might have been my imagination though.

Overall, if I lived closer I would be by regularly. Several brewery only beers, plus their regular lineup and seasonals, give you a wide selection to choose from. The food we had was top notch and well prepared. The staff was very friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend anyone in the area stop in; I know I can’t wait until my next visit.

The new brewery is massive! We went on a weekend, and it was busy, but not too crowded. However, with large open ceilings, on a weekend, I couldn't help but notice something that sounded like power tools/saws running in the back area, for a really long period of time. I understand that they work in the same space where they have the public, but it was really really irritating after a while.

FOOD: The menu is small. The concepts are very unique and the execution is decent. Some of the items have really, really small portions, and others are GIGANTIC. My secret passion is the german potato salad, which actually is nothing like a traditional german potato salad, but hey, I like it!!

BEER: Decent selection of their normal beers, plus a few scratch beers available. Interesting bottled concoctions are available sometimes. For anyone not familiar with the brewery, they love to experiment, and have some beers that they ferment in bourbon barrels, as well as other projects. Makes for an interesting dinner. Can't remember the last one we had, but it was similar to a lambic aged in a bourbon barrel, it was damn good.

SERVICE: While the setup is counter service with pagers, the staff does go around and check on people, clean up and offer to get more beers. My only gripe, is sometimes the staff at the food counter are kinda really uncertain about the food products. With such a small menu, learning the items & ingredients should be easy enough.

Overall, pretty good, but a little pricey depending on what you order. And I miss the quaint old brewery, where I was given a tour with a small group by one of the brothers. The new place has a slight air of corporate america, BUT damn if those guys didn't bust their asses to earn it!

Went to Troegs for the first time and fell in love. The facility is amazing and really big. There is a massive gift shop. The tasting room is so big with beer hall style seating. The bar is big with 3 sets of taps and 1 groer filler. One of the cool features that they have is a guided tour, which I didn't get to do and a self guided tour. The bar tenders were great and helped out wonderfully. The food was good. You walk up to a cafeteria type counter with what looks like gourmet chefs. The whole set up is very informal but cool. The place is awesome. Check it out!

Another one of my favorite places to visit in the area because of the locality, spacious venue, and electrical outlets. I love coming to Tröegs to drink a few beers, read up on research articles, and write papers because it has everything I need to help propel my paper into the quality that is required in graduate school.

The food here is absolutely fantastic and creative! Never had anything I did not enjoy, you will be sure to find a surprise here!

The beer is… well Tröegs beer. It's good, nothing special, but it's brewed really well. The MAJOR and MOST important reason to visits Tröegs is to try their best beer… their SCRATCH BATCH series. Typically, the scratches are their best offering whenever available.

Go visit Tröegs for a quick bite to eat and a solid beer to wash it down.

A nice and large area for visitors without seeming like a Disneyland(commercially) for beer lovers. Plenty of selection to choose from as far as beers to taste. Always helps to have tasting sizes. There beers are very good and I love many of them.
Service was good and the food they offer there is pretty good as well. In fact it is better than I had imagined.
Overall, a great brewery to visit.
