Pours a slight pinkish, rasberry color. No head or lace to be found. I couldn't detect any aroma (slight cold) and a very thin mouthfeel. No finish, actually got worse as it warmed, and boy did it warm. Sorry, not too good.

Well my wife ordered this like I knew she would,it pours a deep yellow with not mtch head to it.Aroma was of tart rasberries with a little wheatiness as well, taste is sweet but with a little tart edse from the raspberries with a light wheat/malt aftertaste.A little better than alot of the run of the mill fruit beers but not something I would order.

A thanks to the creator of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a dark pinkinsh color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of sour raspberries. Taste is the same, tart, slightly sour, a good bit of berry flavor, not much else going on. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

A: Pink grapefruit intial pour turns a dark cherry while in the vessel. Strong sense of carbonation with a creamy-frothy tannish head that showed hints of pinkish hues. Lacing is moderate, spotty, while the top coverage has a good rate of retention lasting well into the drink.

S: Aroma has a slight tartness of raspberries, dairy creamer and raspberry yougurt of moderate intentions.

T: Flavor was sweet initially, sugary raspberries at first that turns to a slight tartness on the trail end. Dairy creamer and raspberry yogurt with some fruity sweetness with a smooth and creamy finish, perhaps wheat based.

M: The body leans towards the lighter end of medium, frothy and creamy nature with a raspberry punch twang of tartness that has a slight lingering effect.

O: Overall not usually a fan of berry/vegetable style beers but this turned out pretty decent for what it was. The flavor seem natural and not artifical, with a creamy body base.

Appears a ruby red with a small off white head with traces of pink. Fades within a minute to a tiny collar leaving small bits of lace.
Smell is of rich raspberry juice, and honey, atop a mildly grainy ale made with a unique blended Belgian and lager yeast strain giving this a fruity/dry mix.
Taste is of smooth, slightly sweet and tart raspberries in a slightly watery batch.
Mouthfeel is partially light and watery with a hint of sugary tartness finishing with a dryness.
Drinkability is of mixed tartness with a unique yeast that makes this a distant Belgian cousin. Not bad drinking.

Pours a clear deep ruby red color with a large bubbly white heading.Really no lacing to speak of.

Smell is crazy with rasberries and touch of other mixed berries. A yeasty smell is also present.

Taste is all rasberry with very feint hops. Also a kind of film left in the mouth like I just drank a rasberry soda.

Mouth again is sort of like a soda, ridiculously carbonated and it kind of ruins the mouthfeel. A light bodied beverage.

Drink is below average for me. I really can't see myself drinking this again.

All and all way too bubbley, and it has a kind of candy taste with all the rasberries. I was dissappointed when I've heard good thing's about this beer.

From a variety 6-pack purchased at the brewery:

Pours reddish fruit punch colored with a fizz of a "head" that comes an goes in a flash. No retention or any lacing. Not pleasant to look at, to me.

The smell is of raspberry fruit punch. Vague bready/grainy notes distinguish it from such, though not by much.

The taste is of an "artificial"ish raspberry and fruit punch with a bit of alcohol. Seltzer water grows. Prickly carbonation wipes out any real "finish".

It has a fizzy light body.

This has just a hint of maltiness to distinguish it from raspberry/fruit punch flavoured seltzer water. Not a drain pour, just wouldn't get again, or want any more of it.

A bit of CANQuest (TM) thanks to the 'Yunkers at the Opening Tap of PHL Beer Week table for getting me some CANs to take away and review. I CAN guarantee that these will not be wasted like the ones some jagov was pouring down his gullet at the end of the night. There was a third CANned beer that he chugged down as I watched in dismay! Grrr.

From the CAN: "Every small batch of this ruby colored ale is fermented with over 500 pounds of plump raspberries for a distinct berry aroma and a tart, yet not too sweet flavor. The beer is lightly filtered to preserve this delicate profile. The name Schuylkill Punch is a colloquialism for the tang of the Philadelphia river water back in the olden days, and the recipe has been with the Manayunk Brewing Company since we began."

The Crack unleashed some beautiful pink foam that jumped out to greet me! I had to give it a moment to calm down before beginning the inverted Glug. I got a brief, foamy finger of pink head that looked like cotton CANdy which withered in the heat and humidity of the day. Nose was tart and very raspberry and I was reminded of my late-paternal grandmother's garden with its raspberries along the fence. Color was a slightly hazy reddish-purplish-pink. It is a good thing that I am comfortable with my masculinity or I might be embarrassed to be seen with this beer in my glass. Mouthfeel was big and full, not quite creamy, but very effervescent. The taste left no doubt that raspberries were involved and the yeast worked well with them to create a tartness that was perfect for the weather. Sweet? Not really, if at all. Raspberries fermented into alcohol generally produce a tartness and since I usually eschew sweets, this is perfect for me. The finish was dry and refreshing, perfect for summer. Put some in a cooler and take a boat ride down the Schuylkill River!

First had: on tap at their brewery

A raspberry lager. In the same way as the blueberry wheat, I don't think Manayunk has quite mastered the complex art of making a successful fruit beer. If it was a choice between the two, I'd go with this one, only because it lacked the harshness/acidity of the wheat.

Poured ruby red with a small white head that all but completely dissipated. Grains and tart raspberry in the aroma. Taste of a thinned out framboise, with sweet malts accompanying the fruit, and a hop bite just noticeable. Grains provide a drying sensation. Light mouthfeel, and somewhat drinkable, but not for me.

Poured from a plain clear bottle with the name of the beer hand written.

Beer is a cloudy ruby color with a decent white head on the top.

Aromas are of tart raspberries.

Beer taste very tart, and a bit bitter. There is an underlying raspberry flavor that is not very sweet. The finish is yeasty and spicy. Interesting beer...

Mouthfeel is not bad, crisp and prickly from the carbonation.

Drinkability is pretty good. It's an interesting fruit beer. Worth trying.

Bottle courtesy of eclectic, thanks again!

Look below for explanations of the name...Skooooo-kulllll. Man this stuff smelled good, like a giant pot of fresh raspberries. I thought the hops and raspberries had a good blend, the berry flavor didnt overpower me, only in the smell. I could definitely tell it was a wheat beer. Manayunk did a good job with this one, and I tasted no evidence of this having the slightly high ABV for a wheat beer. Overall, a tasty beer I enjoyed with my full rack of ribs.

Bought a mixed six pack after trying some of the beer in the restaurant.

When poured it's pinkish, very pinkish. Very fizzy and carbonated.

The smell is of sweet beer (yeasty smell) and raspberry.

The raspberry is very apparent. The mouthfeel is a bit drying at the end and slightly malty, but it's more like a light lager with fruit added.

Overall I think some girls I know who don't like beer would love this fruit flavored "beer" but it's not my favorite fruit beer by far.

A really light brew with a very pleasant flavor of raspberries. Thin body. Interesting without the usual wheat flavors, so maybe it is a regular light malt beer. The wheat-based fruit beers are certainly more numerous. This is clean, crisp, light, and refreshing.

Seems to be a favorite when people order the tasters-- the pink color is unmistakable. Gorgeous pink shade with a low white head. Fruity taste but rather dry. On a bicycle ride out from the city, this was the ideal quaff for a summer day. On tap at the brewpub. [notes from 05/26/2012 visit]

This is a superb fruit beer. A nice clean "beery" backbone supports a wonderful cornucopia of fruit. If you order a raspberry beer, this is what you should get. Many, or most breweries use extracts for fruit flavor. A nearby brewery in Royersford PA charges 3X the money to add the same fruit. This is not a WONF beer.

Clear red, orchard-like fruit nose, finishing clean with a lasting berry afterbreath. I disagree with the general consensus, I have had dozens of "fruit" beers and think this is one of the best.

This is one of the worst lambic/fruit beers I have ever tasted. The taste of fruit seems false, and not made with REAL fruit juice or brewed with real fruit. It tastes like they dumped some Hawaiian Punch into a glass of Pilsner Urquell and said "THIS WILL SELL!" Really awful beer. I highly suggest you avoid this if you are visiting the Philadelphia/main line area...

Looks like a fruit beer. Flavor is...ack! Wretched. Seems like a concentrated flavor additive. And what's there is way too much. You can almost taste the syrup in it. Totally lame. This kind of beer should have died 10 years ago and I can't move beyond it quickly enough.

From 06/02/12 notes. Had on tap at the brewery.

a - Pours a clear dark pink color with one inch of bright white head and moderate carbonation evident.

s - Smells of sweet and sour raspberries, mixed berries, and dark fruits. A little like raspberry juice; pretty cool.

t - Tastes of lightly sour raspberries, sweet raspberries and dark fruits, berries, wheat, and yeast. Again, nice with the light sourness.

m - Light body and moderate carbonation. PRetty easy to drink.

o - Overall a decent fruit beer, though I don't know if I could handle more than a 4 oz. pour. Very cool to see a local brewpub making things like this and a flanders, would have it again and could see this being a fan favorite with my girlfriend and people who like fruit beers.

On tap at the brewpub and arrived in a standard shaker glass. Appears a clear ruby red color with barely a finger of quickly fading light pink foam. Looks like cherry soda. Nose and flavor are of sweet, yet tart red raspberries, a bit yeasty, lightly toasted cereal grains, having a hard time deciding if the raspberry flavor is genuine or extract. I'm leaning towards genuine. The punch is medium in both body and carbonation. A decent attempt at a fruit beer. Seems to be a big seller at the pub.

Best of the Manayunk bunch. Brewed with over 500 pounds of black and red raspberries for a distinct aroma and a tart, sweet flavour. I like the ruby coloured ale...tales of raspberry hide within, not overpowering, just refreshing. They even offer bottles to go of this brew!
