Poured from firkin into pint at standard tap philly. Nice.
Pours a hazy golden orange with huge thick head and lots of carbonation for a firkin. Huge hop aromas...smells like it was dry hopped or firkin hopped...
Big hop flavors with nice bready notes. Its a sharp hop...maybe centennial. A bit bitter butexpected. Its actually a nice brew...easy to drink and nice hop satisfaction. Not sure why the low reviews.

From 06/02/12 notes. had on tap at the brewery.

a - Pours a clear medium orange color with one inch of off white head and low carbonation evident.

s - Smells of orange, citrus hops, pine hops, floral hops, and some pale and fruity malts. Nose is super hoppy, I like it a lot.

t - Tastes of pale malts, fruity malts, earthy notes, floral hops, and light citrus hops. Not as strong or hoppy nose. A step down for me.

m - Light to medium body and low to moderate carbonation. Easy to drink.

o - Overall a pretty nice APA. I liked the nose a lot and it had a ton of hops, though the taste was a bit more average. Still a nice beer I'd have again there.

On tap at the brewpub.

Coppery in color, this comes to me with a nice 1-inch head that is creamy and frothy. This head sticks around a bit and leads to some minor lacing. The body has an almost reddish tint to it in the light.

The aroma and flavor are piney and citrusy, and they come with a good bit of bitterness. Unlike some of my more favorite pale ales, this has an almost raw and unrefined bitter character to it. I like it, though it swings a bit out of balance as the malt backbone of caramel malts just can't quite keep up. While certainly enjoyable, I think that toning the bitterness down a bit would bring out some of the orange, peach, and grapefruit a bit more, allowing the aroma to really shine.

This hits the mark, and while not one of the best I have ever had, it is definitely a beer that I would not hesitate to grab again. An easy drinking enjoyable beer.

On tap @ Whole Foods Market Cold Point Pub (Plymouth Meeting, PA) on 8/19/11. Served in a pint glass.

Pours a clear copper, with a near finger of eggshell-white head. This retains with a thin creamy look, leaving back some foamy lacing that sticks a bit to the sides of the glass. The aroma smells ripe and citrusy in the nose, mixing with the sweetness of malts to impart an earthy twang to this. A bit of grassiness gives this some airiness on the edges. Some definite graininess really starts to come out as this warms.

The taste is quite citric, with an earthy edge to it, which is putting off a little too much of a raw pithy bitterness out into the mouth. Sweet grains and a splash of caramel mingle with the citrus flavors a bit. Hops stay in the finish, with a dry and raw bitterness that lingers. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a crisp/borderline prickly feel to the carbonation. Some underlying slickness helps this retain a degree of smoothness to the body though. That sharpness really pops the bitterness here.

This could have used some refinement but my overall experience with this was decent. It at least had a certain amount of quenching freshness to it here on draft. I’m not sure if I would go for it again but this wasn’t a bad $3 pint.

On-tap at the Brewery

A: Typical Pale Ale color. Golden orange with an eggshell colored head of about two fingers. Nice carbonation streaming.

S: Piney, grassy with a touch of tropical fruit.

T: Pine, grassy, herbal, citrus with some breadiness and spice.

M: Light-medium. Refreshing with good carbonation. Smooth on the tongue and real easy to drink a few of these.

Overall: A really nice local APA. Fresh at the brewery is the best way to drink this. A real solid beer.

First had: on tap at their brewery

Decent, but nothing special. Poured a clear, burnt orange with a small off-white head. Sweet malts in the aroma with scent of pine just barely coming through. Similar characteristics in the taste with sweet malts and piney hops, for a pretty good balance; nutty with a mostly dry finish. Light-medium mouthfeel, maybe a bit watery, and a bitter bite in the aftertaste. Fairly drinkable, but not something I'd get too often.

Growler filled at the Plymouth Meeting Whole Foods, reviewed from notes. Pours out a dark coppery amber with a white head that has fine bubbles and good retention. It leaves a nice thick coat of lacing and a good cloud behind. The smell is mostly caramelly, toasty malts with some earthy and slightly fruity hops. Could use some strength and has some nutty notes to it. The taste reminds me of a brown more than anything. It is nutty, toasty, caramel and a bit sweet for malts. The hops add some bitters and earthy and floral notes. There is some yeast breadiness to this one. Mouthfeel is good. The moderate body and carbonation work with the low bitters. There is no alcohol, it is smooth. Great price, average flavor and more like a brown than an APA. The nutty and caramel notes become a bit much, not a bad beer from a brewery I have never heard of.

Poured into my BA mug. Pours a deeper orange color with yellow highlight's. Nice lacing throughout.

Smell is very piney along with citrus hops. A nice bite of sweet malts. Also a touch of maybe some maple syrup???

Taste is very hoppy and very piney, green flavor. An awesome grapefruit aftertaste. Nice yeasty ending as well.

Mouth is great crisp, clean medium bodied beverage with good carbonation. I can feel the tiny bubbles dance on my tongue.

Drink is excellent. A very nice easy drinkable beer that I could probably put down a few.

I retract one of my last statement's saying the tripel lindy is their best. After I had this one there is no comparison.

From variety 6-pack purchased at brewpub.

Pours copperish amber with an off-white head. Some vanishing lace sticks.

The smell is of citrus, some pine and caramel.

The tase is caramelish/paleish maltiness balanceed by a citric/herbal spicing. It has a dryish (slightly chalky) finish. Nicely balanced.

A bit thin, but rather coating and lasting. Smooth and crisp.

An APA with a nice hoppy touch (without crossing over into IPA).

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a slightly cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma of pale malts and light floral hops. Flavor of caramel malt, tropical fruits with a nice bitterness in the finish. Very nice APA, bordering on IPA. The best Manayunk beer I had on my visit.

Appearance: medium-gold color with a little haziness noted. Not much in the way of head.
Smell: Aroma is of citrus-like hops, some degree of malty caramel.
Taste: Hops jump out at the front- earthy/piney in nature, something a bit different about the hops-not quite sure- though not unpleasant. This beer is balanced out a bit by the malts. A little bitter in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: medium-bodied in nature with some slickness noted after the tasting.
Drinkability: A decent session APA I would imagine, the hops could be a little better balanced IMO.

This is a balanced blend of hoppy flavour meets caramel malt. An American Pale Ale is much more tolerable than an India Pale Ale. The floral aroma is distinctive, but the maltiness doesn't leave a bitter aftertaste. This brew is not for everyone, but all true ale lovers should appreciate this one.

Beer pours a dark amber color, with a big white head.

Aromas are sweet, malty, a bit sour, and with some faint hoppy pine notes. Smells interesting, but not quite right at the same time.

Taste is vegetal, with a tea like quality and a bitter mineral like hop quality on the finish. This doesn't really taste right... just reminds me a what a aspirin tastes like when it sits on your tongue.

Mouthfeel is thin, and watered down a bit. It's not bad, but it's not great either.

Drinkability is so so at best. Not my thing at all... this just misses on many levels when it compares to other pale ales.

Bottle courtesy of eclectic, thanks again!

Served a medium clear amber colored beer with slight white head. Smell is slightly hoppy, but little else. Taste has a modest amount of hop taste combined with a some malt. Finishes a bit on the dry side. Very easy to drink, but nothing spectactular.
