The great part of bev'mo is the sheer number of beers that can keep any beer drinker happy. The problem is that they all seem to have one or two specialties or stashes that no other one has. For example this one had plenty of the Stone line especially the Barley wine, 8th anniversary and Epic which I have not seen in a long time. The also had plenty of Allagash Grand Cru and Four which have also disappeared from other shelves. Not that I need any help, but no one offered and that's ok. If you are looking for something special check their website and search by store.

*This was my second favorite Bevmo that I visited. The Selection was great there was Old Stock Cellar Reserves 2009 there. The had a very nice store it was clean and not to crowded. I like the atmosphere it was clam and not hetic; although, there were a few people in there doing their shopping it just seem to flow nicely. I was so stoked to get some really hard to get beers since Idaho has just the local and a few extras. I go to check out and, but I forget my id in hotel in Pleasant Hill. They got really snippy with me and treated me awful as if I was a criminal.I was so turn off by the service that I will not be returning.

Stumbled upon this place while searching for a local grocery store (I just moved up to San Francisco). Must say, this BevMo is a gem!
Located in an industrial part of the Bayview District, I didn't expect a whole lot out of this store. It looks pretty rough from the outside; not nearly as shiny or bright as the other BevMos I've visited. Inside though, it's very clean, open and orderly. Also, the staff was courteous and friendly. No complaints.
Onto the selection: the best I've seen at any Beverages and More! (Sorry RJ / San Luis Obispo store.) On top of the typical BevMo offerings, I found beers from Hair of the Dog, Victory, and even Jolly Pumpkin (whaaa?!). Nice local representation too; I saw two or more beers from each of the following: Iron Springs, Hermitage, El Toro. On top of that, nearly all of the beers were fresh - something that's becoming increasing rare at BevMo stores.
Again, best BevMo I've ever visited. With that said, it's still a BevMo. You won't find anything super rare, but you'll find something for any occasion.

I think this is the best Bev Mo in the city. They have a great selection of beers and have recently ordered the beers in the cooler according to style. The dude with the goggles is very knowledgeable about beer and ready to help anyone. Only complaint is their hours. Other than that they usually always have the most recent beer selection and can find some older beers there also. What's most impressive is their very good choices of international beers. Their selection of belgian beers and English beers is the most impressive.

I think that this is the best Bevmo in the city. They have a very large cooler that is stocked with the beer that should be kept in a cooler. This store also seems to get a lot of turnover on their product so I've rarely seen any dusty bottles.
A note on the neighborhood... come on people, it's not that bad. Sure you don't want to drive off of Bayshore at night but there are rarely even people walking around. Plus it is right off the freeway. You exit off 101, drive two blocks and it's right there. Then to get back on the freeway just drive two blocks north on Bayshore and hop right back on 101. It's completely safe.

The best beer selection of any BevMo on the west side of the San Francisco Bay - and it's the closest to the San Francisco airport. Two hardcore beer guys run the beer department. One of them has a nametag "Beerdude" and will talk your ear off - plesantly and knowledgably - about local beers, distribution, personalities, and the like. Ask for him if you're in there.
The neighborhood is a little dicey, but for quantity and quality of beer selection, the Bayshore store handily beats the other SF BevMos (Geary & Van Ness, which are nevertheless good). Not sure why BAers think otherwise - at least for the last half of 2006 and early part of 2007, there's no contest.
The Bayshore store is vastly better than the San Mateo and Redwood City stores (the next two south).
Absolutely worth a stop for a beer fan visiting San Francisco - guaranteed to have a very good selection of beers, including the biggies from California (Bear Republic, Sierra Nevada, Stone, Moylan's, etc.).

This is probably the biggest BevMo in the San Francisco area, but it lacks the interesting selections of the Geary store and the volume of the Colma store. One advantage of this store is the random deals and bottles you can find. Stone Imperial Stout is only at this BevMo (in the bay area) and I found Maredsous glasses for a $2 once. Mostly American 6 packs with an extensive cooler can be found here. Much lighter on Belgian beers than other BevMos, with more Germans and American craft beers. Unibroue is very well represented here as well.
Call ahead, see if they have what you want. This place has some random winners and a great selection of glassware.

Great selection of beer of all types (but mostly in 4 or 6 packs, unseparable) in a large warehouse of a building. Their cooler selection and that of bombers is limited, but they seem to have more specials (for cheaper beers)(compared to the Geary BevMo). They also seemed to have a larger selection of glassware than the Geary BevMo, if that's your bag.
Can't go wrong with BevMo for quantity, which could keep even a seasoned beer drinker entertained. If you're driving in the city, this is probably easier to get to, being right off 101. If you're bussing it, then the Geary BevMo would be preferable I'd guess.

i think i like this bevmo better than the one on geary just because it's easier parking and seems bigger and not so cramped. the selection seems about the same, tho this one seems a bit lacking in belgian offerings. but overall it is comparable if not better than the geary bevmo-- seems they carry some American micros the other doesn't. service is eh. no one really knows about beer, but at least i got a guy after a bit to price me some cheap duvel glasses. about 3 or four rows of beer plus cooler space. I've decided the selection leaves a lot to be desired after a recent visit, however. Still some decent beer and all but nothing exciting. i guess it's still wise to go bevmo for the sixers and plumpjack for rarer single bottles.
