I stopped in while in town on business. It's smaller than the typical Bev Mo but has a decent selection; especially for an east coaster shopping for take home. I picked up a couple of Bear Republic Racer 15s. My local shop had gotten a small amount but they didn't last long enough for me to get one. So I was happy to find it. They rest of the selection is solid but fairly common. It's not worth going out of your way for but if in the area, it's worth a quick visit.

Been here twice now and both times I was dissapointed after having been to a few good bevmos. There is only 1 aisle of beers and a small portion of the fridge. There a few interesting selections to choose from but like the last guy said, there are much better ones not that far away.
The service is friendly enough but pretty much useless. They are not there to sell beer but rather to sell wine and liquor. The one pleasant surprise though was finding a 12 pack of the Sierra Nevada IPA for $14 last year. Over all not one of the better bevmos I've been to.

San Mateo's is an emininently skippable Bay Area BevMo. Fine for a bomber or six pack on the way home, but way too small a store for a special trip.
One aisle of beer with sixers of various regional brews, a decent lineup of the most commonly available Belgians. Very small cooler, filled mostly with macros.
Even the glassware selection is small for a BevMo.
Fine for the San Mateo locals, but there are a dozen superior retailers (including the SF Bayshore BevMo) within 15 miles of this store - no reason for visitors to check this one out.

This is a tiny Beverages and More. Even so, they have tried pretty hard to get a good selection of beers. Lagunitas, Speakeasy, Anchor, trying to remember others. They didn't have much in the way of wheat beers, but maybe that's because it's November in the Bay Area. Only 2 aisles of beer though. All 4 sixpacks that I bought recently turned out ok (not skunky).
The owner is this Asian guy that was very helpful. I asked about a decent craftbrew pilsner to bring to a party, and he quickly pointed out his top 4.
And of course, like all Beverages and More stores, they've got these cool descriptions of almost all the beers, and sometimes even a beer rating so you can see if your beer taste is similar to the "experts." They've got this one Baltika beer that they describe as a bock, and they rave about it, and I really like how when they think they've found a hidden gem, they try and show it to you. Granted, the beer tasted like a ho-hum pils, no strong malt flavor (not even a strong bite for a pils). But I am a big fan of Beverages in More in general. Oh yeah, if you find yourself with a skunked out beer, they're usually pretty good about exchanging or refunding you -- just take a shower and dress nice when you go in. =)
