Ahh, I anxiously await the release of the Hooker beers, and this is why. Theis beer looks like a full, flavorful headswirling beer right out of the bottle with its ultra-deep shiny amber color (lloks like one of the hot rod cars with 20 coats of laquer). The tight, fluffy head is an orange tinged mass hinting at the bomb waiting below its surface.
The nose is alpha acid hopoil thick; piney, resinous, thick with citrus. The taste follows suit with pine sap hop flavrs, followed by grapefruit, bitter orange, pepper and tobacco. There is just enough malt to nearly match the hops. More malt and this would easily approach double IPA levels. The finish is all dry hops down to the tooth and gum line.
This is another fine offering from Connecticut's best and worth a try, and another, and another, ,,,

A: The beer is slightly hazy yellowish amber in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short off white head that died down rather quickly, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light aromas of floral and citrusy hops are present in the nose.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste has flavors of orange citrus along with hints of caramel malts and floral hops along with a very slight amount of bitterness. Some hints of watermelon are also perceptible.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied and slightly crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I felt that this beer seemed to be somewhat weak for an IPA because it didn't deliver much in the way of bitterness from the hops. Apart from this, it is quite balanced and easy to drink.
