Our sweet stout is made in collaboration with Connecticut's favorite chocolatier, Munson's Chocolate. Copious amounts of oat malt produce a silky, full bodied beer laced with hints of roast and chocolate derived from dark malts. Each sip ends with a mild chocolate bitterness from Munson's proprietary cocoa powder, added generously to the brew. To round out this beer, we add several pounds of cocoa nibs at the end of fermentation to provide a fresh chocolate aroma.

I was actually discouraged from buying this one from a Trader Joe's employee, but I did not heed his advice and bought it anyway because I'm a sucker for milk stouts.
I actually enjoyed it! It lives up to its name; the chocolatiness is very apparent on the nose and the palate. It is not a particularly complex flavor, as it's really just chocolate on chocolate, but it does that one thing pretty well. Good for a one-off, probably won't revisit as it did not pop.

Poured from a 16oz can into pint glass in February 2024. "PACKAGED 10/12/23" was stamped on the bottom of the can, and I drank this about 1 week after purchasing at a beer shop.
Appearance: As with many stouts, very dark black with a thick dark brown head. Head was about 2 fingers high, and lasted only a minute. It leaves almost no lacing on the glass, and ended with a very thin brown head still on the beer. Head bubbles were very fine.
Smell: Aroma of chocolate, and some malt. There is also some other sweet aroma like black licorice, but overall the chocolate and malt dominate the others. Very little hops aroma.
Taste: Mix of chocolate and some smokie roasted flavors and coffee flavors. Not as much chocolate as expected from the aroma. There is very little hop flavors. There is a medium alcohol presence which matches the 7.1%. The sweetness of the chocolate is balanced nicely by the coffee and malt.
Mouth-feel: Medium, and with a smooth body. Not much bigger than a standard milk stout.
This is a good milk stout, and it has a variety of flavors that adds a nice complexity to the beer. It is very smooth and enjoyable to drink. This chocolate sweetness nicely contrasts the other flavors. An interesting stout and I would buy this again for something different.

From a 16oz can dated "Packaged" 10/28/22 into a tulip.
Pours an opaque black with about a finger of tan head that dissipates as fast as it appears leaving no evidence that the head was ever there. Zero lacing.
Smell is mainly of roasty/smoky coffee that yields some dark and mil chocolate on warming.
Taste is a little disappointing-very mild. Some dark chocolate and a little bit of coffee. Touch of smoke and a wierd tanginess.
Thin, wet mouthfeel. Medium carbonation. Very mild bitter aftertaste.
Was expecting more from this one based on the name.

Had this from a bottle.
A: pours a dark town body with thick, brown head with nice retention and lacing
S: smells like chocolate candy; like a chocolate tootsie pop
T: a sweet, tootsie pop tasting beer with a subtle, sweet earthy aftertaste
M: medium and pretty smooth nice
D: nice feel and taste combo; nice drinking beer; a little thin for a stout on the mouthfeel, but nice overall

Poured off the tap in my home bar (yes, be jealous). I like dessert stouts a lot, but sometimes they can be TOO sweet. Not this stuff. Smells like you are going to drink a chocolate malted milkshake before the first sip. However, much dryer than you would expect. Just the right amount of sweetness. Great balance. Great stout.

Just a little more dark brown than black is the Stout in a clear glass liter mug. It came poured from a pint can. Present, but near minimal head and glass lacing accompany. Roasted malt is in the air, but not much else. Yet, the chocolate is there for the tasting. The taste gets kudos for not being overly sweet, but the chocolate flavor runs a little thinly. Would this concoction have just a little more body, it would be a great one.

Rich chocolate aroma. Taste sweet chocolate coming with ice cream lactose. Feel full bodied in the mouthful. Overall solid.

Dark, minimal head and an overall flat look about it. Aroma is chocolate, chocolate, and lactose. Smells sweet, but in a good way. Taste is sweet chocolate, with a little bit of a Swiss Miss vibe. Feel is thin. Overall, solid.
