Poured 331ml bottle into a La Fin Du Monde tulip glass.

The color is a cloudy yellowish/orange with two to three fingers of foamy white head ans some nice lacing left on the sides of the glass.

The smell is a it spicy with some nice hop aroma poking out with some touches of citrus fruits. The light malty aroma also comes out here as well with some doughy bread aroma.

The taste is wheaty but has a bigger citrus hop flavor then the nose let on. A grapefruit flavor is all over the middle of this beer mixed with that bready malt flavor that is balancing the flavor a bit nicely. The end is bitter as this beer goes down and has a slight yeast flavor as it goes.

The feel of this beer is medium bodied and is nicely drinkable with a full flavor that will have you coming back.

Appearance – Light yellow and wonderfully hazy in color with a pretty good head.

Smell – This one had a monster coriander aroma that took control of the nose. I could also pick up some orange and maybe a bit of yeast.

Taste – A good portion of the coriander from the nose found its way into the taste. There was also a bit of orangish sourness and a light yeast backbone.

Mouthfeel – I thought the mouthfeel was a little clumsy. There was some significant carbonation but the body itself was thin-feeling.

Drinkability – This was OK, but I probably wouldn’t look for another.

A: Gray peach. Thin carbonated head. Crazy bubble streaming. Good head revitalization.

N: Oranges, lemons, a touch of ginger, lactic acid.

T: Deeply spicy. Above a light fruity body are stinging pepper, lemon-ginger, and coriander notes, perhaps cardamom too.

MF: Light bodied. Biting with a strongly acidic, lactic like, (think Hitachino’s Milk Stout) sour finish. Very unique and impressive. Not quite fitting of the style but right up my alley.

D: Dry in the way that makes one thirsty for more. Exceptional.

served in a pint glass.

Look (4/5) - Pours a really pale straw (maybe as little as 5*SRM). The color is near perfect, really. Carbonation clings to the inside of the glass. Head is large, fluffy and bone-white in color. It falls a bit faster than I'd like. Hazy is ideal.

Smell (4/5) - Very light, good for the style. The wheat smell (grainy, crisp) comes through. Some nice fruitiness and spiciness, but this is a touch faint. Finish is clean and dry, falling just short of tartness. No hops.

Flavor (4/5) - The flavor is more assertive than the nose. the balance is a lot more fruity. I still get the strong wheat flavor coming out first. The finish is less dry and tart, though. There is more fruit in there (pears/apricots). Some nutmeg comes through, but not very much. Not a lot of orange or coriander (a flavor combo I really like). No hops.

Feel (4.5/5) - Medium-light body with good carbonation. This really dries out the finish and balances the flavor out. Ideal for the style.

Drink (4/5) - A good example of a witbier that's experimented with the spicing - I would have liked to have gotten a bit more of the nutmeg and coriander, though. Highly drinkable and refreshing.

Appearance- crystal clear glowing gold, low brite white head

Aroma- strongly phenolic, like on the band aid level, fades to allow pepper and lemon zest out, light cranberry notes, hey, pear, very fresh, a little saison-like, light spruce note, very interesting....

Flavor - Very pleasant and soft lactic twang, helps balance very sweet belgian pils character, no overt coriander, subtle berry fruit and spice, with more of that spruce / mint character in the finish, light orange citrus tone w/ virtually no edge. Not a sharp beer in any way. Wheat character is distinctly lacking. Lemon and pepper notes . Dry finish.

Overall- definately an unconventional but pleasing wit. Drinks like a Pilsner. Just has no wheat character. I applaud it for not being over the top w/ coriander, if its there at all.

Presentation: 11oz short-n-stubby brown bottle. That crazy owl mocks me. Why, owl? Why?

Appearance: There's yeast ... so this baby pours a cloudy straw-coloured beer with a creamy white head. There's also ample stick and an equal covering lace.

Smell: Major clove/ginger aromas that pretty much stifle everything else.

Taste: Ultra-creamy on the palate and light-bodied, actually a very uplifting beer -- that palate literally fills up with creamy beer goodness. Grainy malt characters kick things off and are quickly replaced by a highly refreshing citrusy/orange hop snap and a spicy ginger/clove/coriander character that is relentless. Pepper flavours are also evident, and dominate with the rest. No real sweetness, but there's some dextrin kicking about, especially as a body builder. Finish is dry, with loads of clove afters.

Notes: This is one hell of a unique and outstanding beer! The flavours scramble the shit out of the palate and there's so much depth to this beer that you need an oxygen tank and a slow rise to reality to avoid failing to the bends. Orange? Clove? All these wonderful flavours ... this is all blissful. I'm calm, collective and at one with the universe. This is more of a Wit than most traditional Belgians ... oh, and it's from Japan. Purchase this beer now.

Cloudy pale orange with a dense rocky white head. Dried orange peel and coriander in the aroma and flavour. Seems the coriander is more dominant in the aroma. Refreshingly crisp and smooth at the same time, dry malt character in the back with grainy tones and nuttiness from the yeast. Spices add some sweetness, coriander is the one that flexes the most. Smooth and rounded grainy flavour helps in the finish. A good and balanced white ale.

11.2 oz stubby bottle with the cute owl on the label and cap. Actually looks white as it pours from the bottle, but in the glass is a slightly hazed, straw yellow body with a modest white head that has good retention and leaves some patchy lace. Odd aroma of slightly sulfuric Saaz hops, orangepeel, and coriander. Mouthfeel is light bodied with high carbonation. Taste has spicy coriander, lemony citrus, wheaty cracker, yeast, orangepeel, and herbal hops that come together quite well. The flavors are all restrained, and the high carbonation helps them meld into a very flavorful, light bodied Wit. Very interesting flavor profile, but it works well. Very refreshing, and an excellent choice as a session ale. Based on my experience with other offerings from this brewery, this is basically a Hitachino Lite.

on tap at the Puck Fair bar in Soho, NYC. pours cloudy apricot, white head, light lacing left on the glass, light sugary nose. This is a light, yeasty brew, spicing is fairly mellow but evident. Citrusy and piney notes late. Fine summer brew, pleasant, well crafted wheat that is a treat if you can find it on tap.
