Picked up a bottle at Goebels in Wichita

Pours an effervescent straw color with a sliver of beige head. Hazes a bit as it warms, no head retention & lacing

S: White pepper & coriander & grassyness & barnyard

T: Grassy, slightlty funky, & lemons up front. Grassyness, lemon zest & funk dominate as this warms, plus much tartness. Puckery tartness in the finish, along with some dryness & funky grass

MF: Medium bodied, low carbonation & puckery tartness

Through the roof drikability, easily the best Japanese beer & or Wit I've had, period

Bottle drank at Good Luck in Rochester, NY.

Pours a hazy golden yellow, with a half inch head, and a little bit of lacing.

Smells like orange, lemon, spices and yeast.

This is one of my favorite Wits I've ever tried- because they toned down the spices and yeast flavors (still there, but more subtle) and ramped up the delicate orange peel and lemon zest flavors. There's also some grassy hop flavor, wheat bitterness, fruity yeast esters, and spicing I can't distinguish. Very delicious, and goes down quite easily.

Light bodied, crisp at the front, slightly creamy at the back of each sip. Medium amount of carbonation, with the tiniest of carbonation bites.

Wit is far from my favorite styles, but this is probably my favorite of the style that I've tried.

Poured cellar temperature into a pint glass.

Any head here is no more than a half-finger of white foam which dissipates quickly. The ale is a quite cloudy lemon straw color, with lots of sediment suspended throughout.

Its aroma is mostly of orange zest and lemon, with some spices liking nutmeg and coriander coming through. Possibly some cardamom, and maybe even a bit of mango and pineapple. There's also the always-pleasant sweet bread dough smell of the Belgian styles. Slightly musty.

Refreshing fruitiness makes the first impression on my palate, oddly reminding me of green grapes, pears, and cantaloupe more than any of the fruits I smelled.. A bit of tart lemon does show up in the middle, followed by a dry, clean finish of yeasty, bready, biscuit maltiness.

The light body and bubbly carbonation feel right on.

Subtle, light, and refreshing, but also enriched with some pleasurable complexities and eccentricities.
