aroma: Orange and Corriander right up from with a bit of incense(sp)
Appearance: Hazy Straw Gold
Taste: Just like a belgium wit bit with a bit of herbal flavor in there as well.
Overall: This is the first japanese beer that tastes great and not something flavorless. The aroma was odd at first but its still a great example of a beligum wit.

11.2oz bottle served in a standard pint glass.

pours a slightly cloudy, dull yellow tone; yields a foamy finger of a white head that dissipates quickly. not much lacing to speak of.

nose is lead by citrus (notably lemon zest) with coriander and some yeast evident. flavor follows the aroma with an added bit of wheat grain and some floral/herbal/earthiness... has a subtle sourness to it... finish is largely clean. not bad, even somewhat enjoyable in its own right, but for me nothing really to write home about, will give this one another try over the summer, which it's more tailored for.

light to medium bodied mouthfeel. serviceable, i'd be open to another but it's nothing i would seek out again.

hazy orange yellow pour with barely any head. hints of orange, lemon, bread, banana on the nose. a very mellow wheat taste up front with a zesty citrus finish. hints of orange and coriander, very mellow. light body with mild carbonation - tart citrus taste hits the cheeks.

a nice refreshing ale. not much in the body, nothing outstanding in the flavor. different than a lot of witbiers i've had with the citrus.

Pours a classic golden yellow with a decent head.

Smell - subtle. Afraid I am not much on smell, as I have been mislead before based on smell. Yeasty/wheat smell that is light.

Taste - incredible. Very smooth creamy taste that is well balanced.

Mouthfeel - amazing, perfectly carbonated.

Overall - One of the best beers I have ever tried. I expected something decent from Hitachino, but this was much more. A must try if you are looking to expand your horizons.

A: Pours a very cloudy pale straw yellow in color. The beer has a finger tall off-white head that reduces to a very thin ring at the edges of the glass. Very light amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Light aromas of citrus/orange with some hints of spices (coriander and clove). Very inviting and it smells very refreshing.

T: Follows the smell but the citrus/orange flavor is more pronounced. The citrus/orange flavor is balanced nicely with the wheat flavor and the spice hints (coriander and clove).

M: Light bodied with light amounts of carbonation. Crisp.

O: Very refreshing, very enjoyable, and very easy to drink, I have had this beer many times over the years, enjoy it, and will likely continue to drink it. I find the taste and the style very sessionable.

Breaks all preconceived notions about Japanese beer!

My friend sends me a pic via whatsapp while I'm @bevmo and wants 6. At $6/sm bttl I get 2.

Especially yummy with a seafood dinner.

Pours out cloudy into a tulip glass.
Yellow straw colored...lemon/citrus in the left nostril, dry Wit on
the right

Refreshing lemon creame flavor, slightly sour with a great balance.
Goes down soo easy. Light carbonation.

A must for the beer connoisseur

Will get more.

Light golden to very slightly hazy yellow colour topped off with a foamy, white head that lasts about thirty seconds before turning bubbly and then to a thin lacing around the top of the beer with some visible carbonation but not a lot.

Orange peel and coriander dominate to begin with along with some nice spice and pepper notes. It is sweet and fresh smelling with touches orange and citrus throughout. Very summery and refreshing on the nose but not strong although it does begin to open up after a few minutes.

As expected the taste is much like the smell with a fair amount of orange and citrus up front intermingled with some good spicy notes and a helping of coriander. Some more fruity citrus notes are mixed with good herbal ones making a very well balanced beer.

Excellent on the palate. There is plenty of carbonation without the gas that usually comes with it, and this is backed up with a good balance of flavours and a crisp, refreshing feel to it. The body is light medium and went down a treat.

An outstanding beer and incredibly well balanced beer with plenty of spice. Although not affecting my review of the beer, this one certainly wasn't on the cheap side and that is the only reason I probably won't have the opportunity to try this one all to often but it was worth every penny.
