A- This one has your text-book example of witbier appearance. densely translucent straw yellow body with uniform cloudiness throughout. Pours with a decent (2 finger) white head that fades to 1/2 finger and has good retention. Some lacing is left behind in the glass.

S- your typical wit-profile. citrus and yeast. This, one, however, has an interesting floral hop profile that reminds me of Tsing Tao (almost skunky-but not really).

T- Citrus and a strange herbal sourness upfront with a healthy yeast backbone. Floral hops kick in for the finish but all other flavors intensify. Rather than a big sweet breadiness- floral hops and that strange sourness linger. I don't think I'm a big fan of this Asian twist to my witbier.

M- Medium carbonation and light, smooth, yeasty body.

D- Its not bad-average overall. Definitely a different spin on a witbier. Probably not one I am willing to spend money on again.

I bought a bottle of this at Gristedes in Scarsdale, NY, and poured it into an oversized and flared pint glass.
Appearance: Very low SRM, cloudy, big white head with bad retention and no lacing.
Smell: SPicy as in cooking spice not hot and not like a standard hop spice.
Taste: Very nice Christmas like, a bit watery.
Mouthfeel: Crisp but light.
Drinkability: Ok.
Don't drink and review.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a light yellow color with a large white head that fades almost instantly and leaves very little lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is of coriander & nutmeg spices along with orange peel, light malts and a slight touch of Belgian yeast.

T: The taste is mostly fruit and spice with flavors of orange, banana, coriander & nutmeg. There’s very little trace of Belgian yeast or wheat. The malt character is very thin and there’s almost no hops presence at all. The after-taste is slightly sweet.

M: Smooth with a little crispness, light body, heavy carbonation, finish is clean.

D: A little tasty, goes down ok, not filling at all, not a good representation of style, this is definitely at the bottom of the list of Witbier’s that I’ve tried, however, compared to some of the other Japanese beer exports that I’ve had, it’s a hell of a lot better than any Rice Lager.

This is an interesting beer... I guess. It at least looks as good as Hoegaarden! It smells very herby, like ginger and pepper. Are any of you aware that coriander is British for cilantro? Neither this nor any other beer smells like cilantro, the herb that I make Laab gai with so I don't know what you guys are talking about. Ginger and pine it does. Well that's the best part of this beer anyway as it tastes just ok. Medicinal and lemony with a watery mouthfeel. A greater hop presence is needed as well as some other things. The weird flavor combined with the thin mouthfeel and excessive carbonation make for a mediocre beer. This is not as good as the rest rice ale offered by the same brewer, that was dynamite.

pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head that goes away quickly, lots of sediment, and no lacing.

smell of wheat, lemon, tangerine, and a touch of banana.

taste is light, semi-tart, lots of citrus, and wheat, ends a little dry.

overall just an average wit that tastes better than it looks.

Cute and interesting bottle design.

As for the beer itself: It poured a very murky, straw yellow with large, suspended yeast clouds and some darker sediment on the bottom of the glass. The tiny, white, bubbly head quickly faded to nothing. The beer looked completely flat, but this was definitely not the case.

Smell was yeasty, sweet and fairly mild. Orange peel, lemon zest, coriander and malt were most apparent.

Taste was a combination of orange and spice with subtle hops on the swallow. Clean finish with some noticeable alcohol astringency.

Mouthfeel was quite thin and highly over carbonated. The beer turned to fizz once it hit my tongue. I noticed the same thing with the Red Rice Ale.

At $3.60 a bottle, I would not buy this beer again.

Cloudy and yellow looking very true to the style. Great packaging with a painted owl for a logo. I'm a big fan of spiced white ales but this one was overpowered by ginger. Good acidity and mouthfeel was good. Surprised to see a Japanese brewers interpretation of this style. Would be better if it weren't for being heavy on the ginger.

Alright. Bottom line is that this beer is good, not my top pick but very drinkable, and has a lot going for it.

It looks nice - hazy gold.
smells interesting - like fresh bread, bannana, pineapple, and faint hops.
Taste is interesting, but still, not a huge fan of wheat beers - Banana (not my first choice to put into a beer), lemon, yeast, very small hop flavor, and maybe rosemary?
Smooth yet thick on the palate. It's easily drinkable, but I wouldn't go for more than two or three in one sitting.

I would drink it again - just because it's interesting enough; but considering this is an asian brewery, its really impressive and mostly, I think it just makes me want to see what their other beers are like.

Poured a 12 ounce bottle into a glass mug.

A: Pours a cloudy, straw yellow body with a small, white head with poor retention and no lacing along the glass.

S: A very floral smell with some hints of wax or something as undertones. Maybe due to a combination of various spices.

T: A smooth, interesting, floral taste with hints of citrus/orange zest and coriander in the aftertaste. Definitely a nice tasting beer overall.

M: A pretty carbonated mouthfeel. Slightly refreshing feeling.

D: OK drinkability overall. The mix of spices and malts gave it a bit too much of a floral taste - almost like potpourri. Definitely an easy, light drinking beer.

A - Opaque yellow pear. Almost no head.

S - Mild, effervescent cider.

T - Pear, little Champaign, light wheat. Flavor drops off at the end with almost no after taste, just a little residual booze.

M - Almost flat, with a very light body.

D - Mild and very drinkable.
