330ml brown owl bottle into S. Smith pint glass.
A - pours a cloudy burnt orange, with a bunch of particles in the body, the head is an off white, that is influenced by the color of the beer. the head forms well, and dissipates just as fast. I have never had a spiced beer, so I do not know how exceptional or not this is; it looks fine, but I do not know if it is superb, so I shall give it a bit above average since I find the color appealing for a ginger beer.
S - well, it certainly does not have the same kick in the nose that a Reed's Jamaican ginger brew does. instead of ginger it smells like really pungent generic fruit sweetness, which isnt bad at all; Though I am unable to discern any real particular fruit; may be artificial fruit punch or some sort of peach/nectarine.
T - the ginger hits the middle tongue most prominently when first sipping, the light flavours then fades out pretty quickly during the finish; the after taste has a revival of the flavour, a nice wide encompassing taste of the ginger, nothing to pungent. the ginger is hardly overwhelming, and is a very delicate taste. the spiciness is most clearly found in the finish, while the slight floral bitterness is found in the initial tasting. the after taste also has some sweetness, most likely from the malts.
MF&D the feel is a bit thin, though I agree with the brewer I wouldnt want to be drinking a ginger slurpee, I think a bit more carbonation or viscosity would have done well to make the beer pack a bigger concentrated ginger punch. the drink ability, however, is great as it is. For if it were to get a heavier body then it wouldnt be quite as light and refreshing. thus we have a paradox.

Appearance: Poured from a 720 ml. bottle into a Duvel Belgian Tulip glass. Dark amber in color with a ½ off white head. Spotty lacing that disappears quickly.
Smell: Make no mistake; the ginger aroma is prominent and distinct. An aggressive swirl of the glass brings out even more of the ginger aroma, followed by a hint of sweet candy-like booziness. Not the same ginger ale smell from a soda, as this was sweeter and spicier with a citrus undertone.
Taste: Exactly as I thought it was be. Ginger, ginger, ginger all the way through with the same hint of sweet booziness at the finish. I catch a glimpse of nutmeg and all-spice with each sip. Dessert-like sweetness is prominent.
Mouthfeel: Sweet and slick, with a mildly bitter and warming finish. There is no doubt this beer dabbles in the 8% ABV range.
Overall: You have to love ginger to truly appreciate this beer. I happen to be a big fan of ginger, which is why I enjoyed this beer so much. It gets better as it warmed. If you like ginger then give it a try. This is my first beer from Kiuchi Brewery. I’m looking forward to trying more of them. Enjoy…

(bottle code RG.13.12 - poured into a tall Unibroue tulip)
A: tall, gooey-spongy foam to start... somewhat cloudy, dark caramel color - looks like liquified caramel in the process of cooling off dry...
S: browned, dry caramel overtone... old, candied ginger
T: heavy malt foundation, malty ginger beer, herbal bitterness in the finish... powdered ginger and grain-husky bitterness lingers... tiny hint of spicy alcohol
M: fatty-round... thinnish, chewy-gooey viscosity... booze enhances the notably dry finish
O: caramel-y malt and powdered ginger are core to the taste here... it appears that it could be a goopy mess, however, the flavors seem to have decent balance and it thankfully ends up surprisingly dry... if you dig malt and ginger anything, this is a good one
