This beer has a froth that just won't quit, forming a spun-sugar white crust on the inside of the glass and persisting with an even white blanket over the hazy bronze, peach-colored liquid. The nose is not intense, smelling of sweet yeast, pear and apricot. The flavors are also mute, offering hints of wild rice, chestnut, and quince. There is a dusty, bitter grain flavor on the long, dry finish. More Gout d'Anglais than American style. Consider these scores very tentative. This is a beer that does not announce itself loudly. Instead it displays class, poise and mystery while it waits for one to learn about it. Very drinkable and refreshing.
Retasted 10-23. No change in scores. It's like a cross between a hefeweizen and a sparkling Vouvray or Prosecco.
