12 oz bottle. Pour is mostly copper with red edges and a fairly tight tan head. Nose has a light malt base with hints of oak and a fair bit of green apple sweetness, acetaldehyde as I am to understand. Taste has a bit of oxidation, notes of oak and some boozy characteristics. Malt base is fairly rich and dry, a touch tart and definitely a bit off. Full bodied, dry finish, well carbonated.

For a beer made with oak chips, I would expect more smokey and wood notes from the aroma. The color is a lovely warm amber color.
Going into it, it's a decent sipper. The alcohol dissipates around the mouth and the tip of your tongue gets a little of the bitterness. Taking a bigger sip, the caramel initial note is nice, but then it turns into an acrid combination of bitterness and alcohol. I wish the wooden flavor was more well rounded and sweeter, as currently, it leaves your mouth stuck with the taste of something like soil.

Re-Review:
The beer comes in a rich hazy ruby color.

After a year, it smells very much like an American strong ale/barleywine.

A bit of those earthy and piney hops. Tons of caramel and toffee rich sweetness. That oak shines through as well. Very much like Bigfoot.

The flavor follows with some of that caramel sweetness. However, still with tons of bitterness. Earthiness, a bit of pine. Loads of oxidation on the finish. Wet cardboard and leafy flavor. Alcohol shines through on the finish. As it warms up the oak shows through more and the beer becomes smoother.

A year mellows the beer out, the oxidation is quite prevalent, but the bitterness calms and it becomes a smoother drinking beer.

I recommend aging it.

Another big Thank You to CaveDave for this one. Poured into 10oz goblet. Poured a lightly hazy medium brown color with about 1/2 inch of light tan head that moderate retention and decent lacing.

The aroma had big malts and solidly notable wood aspects, and a bit of an alcohol note at the back. Pretty similar on the tongue, the malts dominating, some wood dancing around the edges, a light sweetness overall, and a bit (very slight) of an alcohol burn at the finish.

The body was lighter than a lot of other comparable brews, which made for an interesting change of pace. Drinkability was dangerously good, a bottle (or 3) could get down the throat before you quite realize what's going on. Overall, a great brew, one that compares favorably with one of my all-time favorites, North Coast Old Stock Ale. This would certainly be in regular rotation if it were local. Obviously a must try if you see it.
