A - Superb head when poured but fizzled out in no time leaving thin white remnant. Pale amber colour.

S - Some hops detectable but behind a sweetish toffee/butter.

T - Quite subtle for a bitter, hops not prominent. To be honest felt a bit watery.

M - Thin, with acceptably low level of carbonation.

D - Could not really see me having more than one, at least for the bottled version.

Have not seen this in cask locally (hardly surprising) I'd imagine this is a much different beast from this bottled version. Like most bitters a non bottle conditioned beer probably bears little resemblance to the cask. Next time I am in Cornwall then.

500ml bottle. Guiness Pint glass. Brass color, clear appearance. White crown shows fairly good retention. Pale malt, subtle toasted, orange & citric aromas. Slight toasted flavor, hints of tropical fruit & floral bitterness at first sip. Light to medium body. Moderate to soft carbonation. Oily to watery texture. Notes of orange pulp, citric zest, grapefruit & raspberry in the middle. Sweet dry finish. Fruity aftertaste. Easy drinkable & suggested for a nice beer session.

Bought in a bottle, poured into a pint glass.

Appearance: Warm, gold with a touch of red. Hardly any bubbles rising, fair bit of a head from my lack of pouring prowess.

Smell: Smells okay, similar to lager but a bit nicer.

Taste: The starting point is similar to lager, but it is a deeper perhaps nuttier taste.

Feel: Feels wet. Nothing wrong with this one.

Very nice and it goes down very easily.

Had this beer in bottles, on tap and fresh from the brewery. It is a great beer every way. Originally brewed as a special, this is now St. Austell's flagship beer. Brewed using their own special malt, Cornish Gold, and Maris Otter. I get an pint of Tribute every time I get a chance.

Good 4.2% pale amber zesty ale. Long lasting white head, fruity on the nose, biscuity flavour with juicy fruit flavours from the hops. Pint served from hand pump at "The Old Custom House Padstow" after a free sample and detailed comparisons to other ales on offer (also offered free samples for these) courtesy of Duncan. May take his recommendation of the slightly stronger and hoppier "Proper Job". Have both a bottle of Tribute and Proper Job and also "Trelawny" to take home, nicely boxed for fathers day, I am a father after all.

Had this on hand-pump at Heathrow this morning with my breakfast. Had two, just to make sure I was drinking the right one :-)

Surprised this is listed as an English Bitter, cause it has far more aroma and flavor than the traditional bitter.

Poured with a soft, off-white head over a cloudy, amber golden hued body. Looks stronger than most bitters. Great lacing.

Aromas have a good malty, bready, spicy quality. Great hop profile of apricot and tropical tree fruit.

Flavor profile features a big cardamom, ginger, and slight cinnamon spice. Dark bread quality there, too - somewhere between pumpernickel and whole wheat.

Mouthfeel is on the crisp and bright side for a typical cask ale with this much flavor, but still pretty creamy and smooth. Pretty darn drinkable, IMHO. Tons of flavor, and low ABV... the ultimate combination!

Bottle my parents brought back from London. From notes.

A - Poured coppery in colour with a one finger white head. Bright with good carbonation. A little spotty lace and a film of retention.

S - Mild grassy hop, citrus, fruity aroma.

T - Citrus, caramelly, earthy.

M - Good carbonation, medium body, fruity sorta ale yeast finish.

O/D - Decent enough. Could use a bit of tinkering but it's alright. Couldn't have as much of it as other examples of the style. Probably would get boring, but OK for a pint.
