On tap at Duke of Wellington pub in Bourton-on-the-Water. Respectable British pale ale to read a book with.

Light orange amber with a slight haze to it and an orange-tinged off-white head. Some vague biscuit malt and citrus fruit on the nose. Citrus fruit, sweet fruit juice, a brief hint of pepper, and biscuit malt on the flavour, malty towards the finish, but with citrus lingering on the tongue the longest. The description on the can mentions using hops from the US and the UK. The subject of American hops in traditional old-world styles is controversial, and rightly so. Sometimes they are just overpowering and detract from the tradition. In this case, the citrus fruit character of the American hops is definitely noticeable, but balanced out by that quintessentially English stiff-upper-lip biscuit malt, and a brief hint of some peppery English hops. The citrusy American character is present but restrained, and indeed the balance is more sweet than sour or bitter. Slightly thin in mouthfeel, but not enough to detract from enjoyment. Overall a very good English pale ale that incorporates New World hops the right way without being overshadowed by them.

From notes.
Pours reddish brown , clear with a tigh bubbled white head. The smell is sweet, light hops, mild citrus, good amount malt. The taste is mildly sweet, malty, citrusy, slightly bitter and flavorful yet light. The mouthfeel is good viscosity with Tony bubbled fizz.
Overall, light, flavourful, well balanced and not too strong.

From cask via hand pull at The Swan/Greene King in London. This is a really nice beer. Great hop character, perfect temp to accentuate the malt character, properly bitter, super smooth and easy drinking. Can’t go wrong here.

This has more hop character than what a traditional English Pale Ale on nitro generally has. It is a nice addition to this ale. It gives it a little more character without trying to hard. A strong regional sessionable ale.

Had on cask. Somewhat cloudy orange pour, full pearl white head, trace lacing. Mild citrus hops with grassy flair in nose. Taste hits the orange and lemon with and very mild hops, yeast and malt are short lived. Feel is a touch watery underneath the leading hops, warm and thin.

a fine cask pull here, the first i have had from these guys. its rusty orange toned and clear, paler than a lot of its peers, with a classic creamy inch of white head from the engine, really nice conditioning evident with this one. the nose is muted, but lightly bitter from the hops with an orange and grapefruit citrus vibe, and some familiar english maltiness, toasted but short of nutty, sweet but not desserty, and more than enough to balance the hops, which present as bold for an english brew of this nature. the yeast and the ferment are fantastic here, drying and bready, old worldy but somehow making this crisper than most, almost a lager type snap on the back end with the hops, really clean pint to drink on as these cask beers go. good mineral profile to this, some decent body in the center, and enough life to it that it keeps moving. i like the way this seems objectively fresh, uncommon with these but thats the case, and i love the creaminess of the texture. a great afternoon sipper, fun to get into a bunch of cask stuff around london with my wife, i wish this style and this pour method were more common in the states. this is one of the better ones we had.
