500ml Bottle from Tesco, Silverburn (£1.65):
This one was my second English IPA in quick succession, following on from yesterdays Gladeye IPA and this one was quite a good offering for the style, probably coming out slightly ahead of the Drygate offering. Taste wise the two were fairly similar but Proper Job seemed to have more hops and bitterness to it, going down easily and well. I'm not sure it's one I'd go back to all that often but it was a nice beer and one well worth picking up if you get the chance.

A: Light copper body with a quickly diminishing head.
S: Lovely floral hops and honey.
T: Repeats the nose. Dry and biscuity and a nice bitter finish with a touch of rindy lemon. Slightly astringent. Also a good bit of earthy ashtray like dirt, which I quite like.
O: I really like the hop profile in this one.

Appearance - Rich Golden Amber colouration, just like the big lump of amber in Jurassic Park. produces a think rocky head that has about average retention and dies to a lace cover in around 5 minutes. Some light evidence of CO2.

Smell - Floral tones are evident and there is ample pine hops with some mild citrus leanings all balanced by sound sweet malt aromas.

Taste - Hoppy pine punch from the first sip all the way to the back end, this punch is balanced out by sweet malts of caramel and toffee. Very bitter on the back end with slight touches of burnt sulfur like the taste of spent match heads some oaky wood nips and a tiny hint of lime.

MF - Oddly thin this one but as it has such good linger with a pleasantly drying finish it is not a problem for me.

Overall - Very well balanced almost like an equally matched boxing round between hops and malts on your tongue. I feel this beer is a great testament to the strength of British brewing and the rounded nature of a good IPA!

States on the bottle that this beer is "powerfully hopped" , was expecting a massive slap of hoppy citrus flavour which it does not deliver.

However it is by no means a bad beer.

Appearance: Beautiful golden colour, crystalline, little head that disappears very fast

Smell: tangy fruits and hops, extremely pleasant

Taste: Again fruity and a lot of bitter from the hops. Strong hoppy aftertaste

Feel: soft but present carbonation, medium body, very satisfying

Overall: excellent, somewhere in between US and UK IPA as somebody already wrote.
