This beer is brewed soley for the Nicholson's pub chain (M & B) and can be found in London and Birmingham that I know of.

My review is of a hand-pulled pint in the strange but beautiful Bacchus in Birmingham, an M & B badged cellar bar on 5th Dec 2012.

Fairly robust light amber colour: not your regular 'Pale Ale' hue anyway. The head being off-white and thin from the start.

Leans towards semi-sweet maltiness rather than hop fronted: pleasant enough without exciting your taste buds or smelling senses too greatly. Biscuity, baked malts with a mini-hop finish to balance out the sweetness. This is OK but I wanted something better: I like both the Nicholson's pub chain and St Austell breweries beers but I hoped this would blow my socks off, it didn't.

On Tap at Eagles & Child in Oxford. Pours amber with white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of tropical fruit, citrusy hops and caramel malt. Body is medium and smooth. Taste is of earthy, herbal hops, bready and caramel malt and some tropical fruit. Finish is long and bitter. Ok brew.

This was served from cask at the (Nicholson's) Feathers pub in Westminster, London (UK).

Appearance: clear amber with a solid white head; good lacing.

Smell: malty biscuits and a hint of earth from the hops.

Taste: super smooth balance of hops and malt in the mildest PA you've ever experienced.

Mouthfeel: medium

Drinkability: This is too easy; a low(er) ABV Pale Ale which would be great to introduce newbies to the style. Pairs perfectly with the lamb cutlets.

Poured a medium pale gold with a nice lacing and white head, smell has pleasant floral and citrus hop notes, light biscuit malt. Taste is similar, lemony citrus hops, mouthfeel is light and a tad watery, light carbonation, pleasant and refreshing though. A nice sessionable pale ale, quite light and works decently well. On tap at Deacon Brodie's, Edinburgh.
