Without a large "beverage store" here on the mid-coast of Maine, you tend to rely on markets and grocery stores for your day-to-day beer shopping. Unlike the Hannaford in Belfast which is barely worth mentioning because the selection is so basic and predictable, Graves in Camden does a better job with their selection.

Quantity is not huge but the quality is. Many Maine brews are available including Allagash White six-packs which are a rarity away from the larger towns. A good selection of Geary's including the tough to find London Porter. Sea Dog, Gritty's, Shipyard, Belfast Bay are also well represented. Sierra Nevada and Anchor are typically available representing micros from away. A good selection of Euro macros (Stella, Guinness, Bass, Murphy's) rounds out the selection. Some US macros but not much space devoted to them, although it's nice that Blue Moon is present in my opinion.

Speaking of space, wine is disproportionally represented. It's a huge wine selection especially for a grocery store. In Camden, wine snobs dominate (which is OK by me since good beers tend to piggy-back good wine in these shops) but it would be nice to have just one shelf devoted to Allagash, Ommegang and Belgian bottle conditioned brews just to mix it up.

Service is good but you will be hard pressed to find somebody to answer any real beer questions. Prices are a bit high for a grocery store but fair and I found nothing that wasn't fresh so the turnover and rotation are very good. This is THE place in Camden for Maine brew and may be the best on the mid-coast.
