Appearance: A orange amber colour that poured with a finger and a half of head. The retention was quite good and went with with the relatively low amount of lacing. Modest carbonation in the body as well.

Smell: As advertised, those spicy cirtus cascade hops are right up front. Behind it is a nice caramel malt sweetness. Warming doesn't help either way, but all in all good stuff.

Taste: Starts with that sweet caramel malt that slowly dissipates as you drink it as the honest dose of hops becomes stronger and eventually rounds out the beer. It's done well, don't get me wrong, but it's missing a certain wow factor.

Mouthfeel: The transitioning is well done and a mild malt and hop aftertaste does the job although it's a little dry. The carbonation is a bit mild though. Pretty good.

Drinkability: Surprisingly light bodied although the dry note sort of puts a damper on the whole thing. Settled down nicely though and was easy to drink but had character to keep me interested.

Final Thoughts: These two hop series beers intrigued me when they came out. Did a big beer brewery put out something beyond macro lager? I'll be honest the answer to this one is yes. This beer as well as the Hallertauer ale were very excellent offerings. Thumbs up.

A. Amber with a pinkish tinge, clear flitered, no carbonation, 4 fingers o f creamy beige tinged white head.

S: Strawberries, pine, light citrus.

T: Strawberries, malt, light offal, fruity, slight herbal green quality, no real pine but some citrus.

M: Medium body, low carbonation.

O: Surprising. Wasn’t expecting strawberry or green herb, but it comes through. As a beer, not awesome, but achieves the presumed goal of displaying cascade hops.
