APPEARANCE: Dayglow pours a hazy, bright orange and has a solid finger and a half of egg-shell-white head. The retention is interesting. Most beers will settle in an even way, but this beer has a more random topography with valleys that form a Y-shaped pattern on top of the beer and different sized mounds of foam between them. The lacing is excellent, covering a good 70% of the back of the glass.

SMELL: Gorgeous smell here; orange, mango, pineapple with a hint of coconut and just a touch of grass.

TASTE: All the flavors from the nose are present in the flavor, but the grassiness is far more pronounced than the fruit flavors. The orange, mango and pineapple are joined by a nice, fairly strong dose of grapefruit and the coconut remains on the sidelines as just a faint flavor to help round things out.

MOUTHFEEL: Very juicy early in the sip with a big, dry, bitter finish. The body is light and carbonation is playful, but not too intense. My only complaint would be that it is a little on the thin side. I’d like slightly more body.

OVERALL: This is an excellent beer. The aroma alone is enough to make me want to buy this again, but the taste is nearly as good and when this sucker is fresh it’s amazing. I would highly recommend buying and drinking this beer ASAP.

Poured into an imperial nonic a dull light to medium golden with a lacey half finger bone white head atop that left some decent lacing as it settled into a frothy mass.Overripe tropical fruits stand out most in the nose along with a little fresh cut grass,a dryer crisp malt base in the nose.A little light in the feel and malt heft keeps this beer from being grear,as it's very good in my opinion.Tropical fruits are the main component flavor-wise with a dryer biscuit malt base.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 1 pint, 6 oz bottle into a tulip glass. The label lists the abv at 6.5% abv and there is a brief description of the beer.

Appearance: The body has a light golden color with good clarity (the second glass was very hazy) and some active carbonation. Sitting on top is a thick just off white head which settles down to a wispy thin film covering that laces up the edge of the glass. Some of which hangs on the sides of the glass.

Smell: The aroma is a little light overall but it has very nice juicy and fruity hops over pale bready maltiness. Pineapple and canned fruit cocktail notes stand out.

Taste / Palate: The flavor is packed with sweet juicy hops backed by supportive light bready malt sweetness. It has notes of pineapple juice with canned fruit cocktail (peaches, pears, green grapes, about 3 cherries per can and sugar water syrup) and a splash of lemony citrus. This turns to citrusy hop bitterness in the finish which lingers for just a short time. I like that it doesn't linger too long. It just helps to remind me that this is an IPA and that I should take another sip. The body and carbonation feel just right and very drinkable.

Poured into tulip; clear golden yellow-orange with a fluffy white head that leaves nice chunky, sticky lacing.
Smells of nice Mosaic hops; pine, stonefruit and citrus. Some more citrus rind and floral.
Taste follows nose, although not as strong as the smell; no date on the bottle, so I'm not sure how fresh this one is. There's a decent amount of hop flavor though.
Mouthfeel is clean, wet and medium-thin bodied.
Overall, very tasty and drinkable. Mosaic are one of my favorite hops, and they're a big reason I picked this one up. If only Elysian would date their bottles...I'd love to find out if this is fresh or not. If not, I'd love to have it fresh, it would be outstanding.

22oz bottle poured into a snifter.

A: Pours a slightly hazy golden amber with a white head on top. Some tiny bubbles are visible in the body. Head dissipates and leaves some lacing on the sides.

S: Nice tropical fruit aroma from the mosaic and eldorado hops. Really comes through with a pineapple or melon like aroma. Some malt sweetness makes up the backend.

T: Very smooth and fruity hop flavor on this one. There is a bit of spice or pine in there too but the focus is on the tropical tones. As with the aroma there are great melon qualities. Bitterness doesnt overpower as there is a lightly sweet malt backing.

M: Medium body with moderate carbonation. A resinous sticky mouthfeel from the hops as well as a dry finish.

Overall it is tough to argue with the mosaic hop flavor and this beer showcases it well. Great tropical fruit flavors mix with a mild malt sweetness. Worth picking up especially if you havent tried mosaic hops yet.

22oz bottle, with a tiger shooting laser beams out of its eyes depicted on the label. What, Phillips Electric Unicorn doing the very same thing wasn't enough?

This beer pours a hazy, dull-looking medium tarnished golden yellow colour, with three fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and certainly bubbly ecru head, which leaves some nice chains of gear cog lace around the glass as things evenly subside.

It smells of dank pine needles, peppy tropical fruit - pineapple, guava, lime, and underripe mango - a sharp, nondescript citrus rind bitterness, grainy pale and caramel malt, a bit of earthy yeast, and a middling chalkiness. The taste is big forest flora green hop bitters - pine, floral, leafy, and musty, all kickin' it alongside its foreign fruity pals - fresh pineapple juice, papaya, kiwi, and a hint of grassy lemon (not quite lemongrass, tho) - gritty pale and slightly bready caramel malts, a minor savoury spiciness, and some middling, probing alcohol esters.

The bubbles are fairly active, and a mite bit cutting at times, the body a decent medium weight, and not particularly smooth, but you don't really care so much about that, given who the perpetrators are here, eh? It finishes quite dry, the pine/citrus/dank hops of mouthfeel renown extending their stay, at the expense of, well, everything else.

Another splendidly fruity and bitter IPA from a West Coast American brewer of such. There are layers of hoppiness to chew through here, which speaks well to multiple indulgences, especially given the relatively sane ABV, both in strength, and actual rendition. A definite stop and smell the flowers kind of offering for aficionados of the style.

Bomber into snifter glass

A- deep copper color with nice thin head
S- tropical fruity hops. Mango and citrus
T- huge mango hops. A bit acidly, but awesome. Very nice use of hops for a single IPA
M- nice and solid. Just the right amount of thickness and carb

O- great IPA here. Smell doesn't do the huge taste justice

Trippy 22oz bottle served in pint glass. Tempted to give it bonus appearance points just for the tiger on the label. Beer pours orange amber, medium haze, with an ample yellowish white head. Super tropical fruit aroma, with passion fruit, guava. They really nailed it with the aroma hops in this one. Flavor is more direct, with a steady bitterness typical of Elysian and their Manic IPAs. Malt backbone is not completely absent and clearly a secondary player. Overall pretty enjoyable, mainly due to the fantastic smell. Not all that great balance-wise, but still probably better than most of Elysian's Manic series (probably my second favorite after Space Dust, so far).
