Poured from a 22oz bottle into a nonic.

This was by easily the cheapest bomber on the shelf, and my only other experience with Elysian was a good one, so I decided to pick this up. Pours a dark, clear, golden orange with a bone white head. Big foamy head that never really goes away and leaves thick chunky lace. Scent is citrus hops and orange rind. Taste is subtle hops and spice up front with a sweet malty backbone, some alcohol in the finish. Medium bodied and not as carbonated as it looks. Honestly I had a hard time rating this one. A good beer but not at all what I expected for a winter warmer. I know it's a winter seasonal but it feels kind of mislabeled as a winter warmer.

Elysian hasn’t been inspiring high ratings for this beer, but I think that it has many of the same qualities and attributes to Stardust and Snailbones. Pretty similar in mouthfeel, malting, and hop profiles as those two, certainly much better than Full Contact,IMO. This ale is more heavy on the malty, graham sweetness than their IPAs, but the creamy mouthfeel is perfect, just enough hops for a little bitter finish and aromatic oils on the tongue. Pretty dang solid as a winter ale, it’s not as darkly roasted and spiced as some. Definitely merits a higher rating, but shoot what does a boozer know?

L= Beautiful cloudy amber, plenty of particulates, which usually means fruit pulp, and assorted deliciousness.
S= That's funny, all the fruity promise has barely a fragrant note. It smells like a mild American lager. A beer about nothing?
T= This tastes like no winter warmer I have ever had. It tastes like a mild IPA. Substantive body, lacking flavor to match.
F= The mouthfeel is good. There is an earthy. food laden feel to the body. It rolls across the tongue pleasantly.
O= Substantive look and feel, insubstantial smell and taste. Strange brew, girl what's inside of you? 3.75 seems generous.

Poured from a bottle into a tulip glass. Golden amber color with a very nice creamy white head and excellent curtain lacing. Sweet, caramel smell and taste. Warm spice and bread. Pleasantly malty with a smooth, full feel. I will get this beer again.

Pale amber color, slight haze. Pours a tightly bubbled white head with good retention.

Rich malty aroma, a hint of alcohol. Subtle hop aroma

Malty up front, but some earthy hop flavors and a non trivial bitterness on the back end. Flavor like an imperial British IPA.

Medium plus body, medium carbonation. No astringency, minimal warming.

Just a nice strong hoppy malt beer. A good one to sip by the fire on a cold night.

12 oz bottle. Pours clear orange gold with a medium white head. Aroma: not much, faint malt, sweet caramel, earth. Taste: dark fruit, malt, a hint of booze. Not a spicy winter ale, but really good.

Look: Classic clear golden ale

Smell:I really couldn't get alot of smells

Taste: Interesting. Doesn't look or taste like this high of ABV (8.3). Interesting interpretation of winter ale. No real spices or fruit, hops come out more than malts. Maybe they figure the hops they picked are wintery

Feel: Its not geat but not bad. Hoppy but yet not quite like an IPA maybe they try to put in malt more

Overall : In the end ineresting but a pretty average beer and not a trad xmas or winter beer

2022 version (The recipe might change from year to year however). Poured from 12oz. bottle. Light amber, slight head, minor lacing. This is a tasty Winter-type beer here. It is both hoppy and a bit spicy, and so it has some bite on the front of your tongue, and some that sticks around a while on the back too. Medium-Light mouth feel. Not much aroma. If you don't like spicy beers, then you might pass on this. However if you like something different, than this is a hit. Has good ABV, and unique taste. This is a different tasting beer, which is a nice surprise in my opinion.

Bifrost pours a hazy copper color, with chunks of stuff, and a small lacing head. Aroma has a nice orange note, hint of cinnamon. Flavor is earthy, malty, nice orange notes, and sweet spices. Thick, but nice body and feel. Overall, a nice beer, some nice spiced flavors, good hints of orange, all on a earthy backbone.
