Poured from a bomber into a tumbler at 53F.
A - Pours an expected dark brown/black with just a bit of reddish tint. Opaque. Very nice head that really lingers. Moderate lacing.
S - Roasted malts - mainly chocolate, coffee, plum, and a bit of roasted pine nuts.
T - The roasted malts really shine through, with just a touch of hops. Mildly Sweet start with the taste of dark and milk chocolate, smoke and dark cherries and prunes. Quickly fades to an earthy, bitter aftertaste. Wouldn't mind just a bit more sweetness/chocolate to balance out the bitter.
M - Low carbonation lends to a smooth and chewy mouthfeel. Overall, I quite like it. It feels like an English Porter, with slightly more flavor complexity and a tad more carbonation.
D - Pretty high really. No problems downing this 22 oz pretty quickly despite trying to sip it. It is fairly low in ABV and improves in taste as it warms.
Overall, this seems like a fine cross between an English Porter and a bolder, more complex flavored American. A nice effort for sure.

22oz into a pint
A - Pours a dark brown with amber highlights. Light head, almost non-existant. Mocha colored.
S - A nice bittersweet chocolate nose. Some yeast in the background. Not much for hops.
T - Starts off smooth, velvety and with a nice layer of chocolate. Mid-stream gets some nuttiness flavors. Some bitterness in the finish, and just a hint of some astringency. On the sweeter side but not bad.
M - Moderate body and light carbonation. Comes off a bit thin. A little bit clingy in the after taste, but not sticky.
O/D - A nice and easy drinking porter. A great session porter I would think . Nice finisher beer.
