22oz bottle, unknown date. Served at cellar temperature.
Pours black with a two finger brown head that fades to a wispy cap and ring and leaves some webs of lacing behind.
Aroma is chocolate and cocoa, roasted malts, some coffee, a bit of caramel, anise, brown sugar, raisins, cinnamon. Good strength.
Flavor is rich chocolate, roasted malts, notes of coffee, molasses, caramel, anise, perhaps a bit of herbal hops, mild sweetness, moderate bitterness, a bit of alcohol on the finish.
Mouthfeel is medium-plus bodied, creamy, moderate carbonation.
Really nice Foreign Stout/Imperial Oatmeal Stout. Really rich flavor, a lot of chocolate and supporting cast, creamy mouthfeel from the oats. I can dig it.
