A: Bomber poured into a tulip glass reveals a hazy, golden orange colour with a foamy well-risen head. Foam sticks to the sides of the glass that fades slowly down the sides. The colt suggests transparency, but there isn't much to speak of. This beer is quite pretty and bright.
S: I don't like the way this smells. There's took much malt coming through on the nose and it smells very corn-y, like an AAL. For an IPA, the hop profile is extremely weak in this.
T: First sip reveals a strong malt backbone with some unpleasant tastes on the finish. The beer rounds out, however, and eventually reveals a subtle hop bitterness with some fruity sweetness that complements the malt. Paired with sweet potatoes, this beer even has full-blown mango aromas and taste. The beer should be slurped to really open it up, and it needs to be constantly swirled to release its full flavor, or else it becomes too solidly malty and impenetrable. The Jasmine qualities barely come across, except in the bitterness. I wish this were more floral.
M: typical mouthfeel for a fresh IPA. Very effervescent without being overly carbonated. Very nearly perfect for the style.
O: I probably wouldn't get this again because I prefer a more fruity, citrusy, or grapefruity IPA, but I can see the appeal in this beer if you like malty, bitter IPAs that have some pleasant astringency. Not for me, but not bad for what it is.
