Poured from tap at Saraveza Portland during Elysian Pumpkin Festival into spooky little Elysian Halloween snifter.
Okay, this is right now the champion king of all pumpkin ales (that I have tasted). Pours a pure copper hue with good carbonation, a pretty nice amount of head that fades leaving a decent lace.
Smells of pumpkin. Actual pumpkin meat. There is a hint of spice floating around, some malt and hop aromatics working in as well.
Amazing flavors assail the palate with pumpkin goodness. Lots of help from the spices and the malts. A true ale flavor at the heart. Really terrific.
Very nicely balanced, despite the high alcohol. Pretty viscous and rich without being heavy, highly concentrated. Medium body. Long finish. Really a great beer.
Serving type: on-tap
