Pours a slightly hazy straw color with a light toasted hue. The head is big and pillowy, pure white.

The aroma is big on the ginger. Very similar to the pickled ginger you get with sushi. Not much else from the aroma, perhaps some peppery notes from the hops. The aroma is nice but one dimensional.

Again, the flavor is big with the pickled ginger flavor. There is some gourdy pumpkin flavor but not much. The ginger provides a bit of a soapy flavor which is what I usually get from pickled ginger. There is some of the cracker dryness that you get from a traditional pils and the grassy peppery hops.

Light to moderate, not as crisp as a traditional pils. The ginger provides a nice sweet offset for the pils. Lightly bitter in the finish. Drinks well.

A good beer but too much of a one drink pony to be great. You will need to like ginger to like this beer.

Served On-Tap

A — Pours a clear and vivid pale pale yellow into the glass. There is no semblance of a head, and there is minimal lace left behind.

S — Smell is pungent and aggressive, with notes of bitter powdered ginger and cinnamon, lightly sweet Pilsner malt base lies underneath, but its dominated by ginger and cinnamon.

T — Much like the nose, there is a light pilsner sweetness initially, but it is overpowered and dominated by cheap ground ginger and cinnamon flavors, bitter and fairly off-putting.

M — Light in body, though there is an odd lingering aftertaste of sweet malts.

O — Not great overall, pretty much dominated by cheap powdered ginger and cinnamon, not a favorite.

On tap. Great palate cleanser or finish to a heavy meal. If you like Ginger you will like this. Some times you need a Pilsner style with bold flavors.

Had on tap. Pretty excellent balance of pumpkin and ginger considering pumpkin is a light flavor and ginger can be so powerful.
