Picked up a single of this at my local beer spot. I have heard good things about this brew. Let's hope this lives up to the hype.

Appearance: Pours a nice, dark orange glow. The head is about an inch in thickness, but dissipates pretty quickly. Presents a nice, autumn, evening.

Smell: Presented first is a nice hint of pumpkin-pie like type of aroma. Has notes of some spices like nutmeg, some cinnamon, and maybe a slight hint of ginger. Really enjoyed how this beer's aroma presents itself. Makes me wanna dive in almost immediately.

Taste: Has a nice, sweet texture at first sip. Reminds me of toasted pumpkin-pie with a dash of maple syrup and some brown sugar. The spices compliment the palate overall. There is a subtle hint of hops that give it that sweet texture, but theres a balance of bitterness that really brings this beer together. Something that to me is very enjoyable.

Mouthfeel: Medium carbonation that lives a nice, dry finish. I actually enjoyed this part and would give it above average. One thing may be a little too dry to the finish.

Overall: Was not disappointed with this brew at all. At first tasting, it was an instant hit with my beer expectations. I was very impressed and the more that I sipped, the more I noticed something different with this brew. It's something that leaves you craving more and if your a fan of pumpkin beers, I strongly recommend this one. Enjoyable to the fullest! Cheers!

Probably my favorite beer right now. After my boss evangelized Elysian’s seasonal beers to me I picked this up at my local liquor store and my fridge has not been without it since. Tastes exactly like a pumpkin ale should. my only demerit is that the head vanishes fairly quickly.

12 oz bottle into a Becher glass.
L: Pour looks like a rusty snow globe with some churning sediment, cola-loke carbonation, no head, thin edge foam, very light to no lacing. SRM 12
S: Pumpkin pie filling with spices.
T: Bitter tea leaves, pumpkin spice, apple, grapefruit zest, pumpkin pith, stemmy & seedy, nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon. Long bitter finish & aftertaste. Fruity, lightly intense, moderately sour and sharp.
F: Brisk, fizzy medium-bodied with a full center and a long finish that is very drying. Softens with warming.
O: Good tasting and overall a little sour. Sweet at first then turns bitter with a long finish and linger. Has common pumpkin pie filling spices and leaves the tongue quite dry. It's OK in its style.

Poured from a bottle

Appearance - Amber red body littered with bubbles with a thick frothy head. Nice lacing rings and consistent head retention.
Smell - pumpkin, cinnamon. Like pumpkin pie baking.
Taste - Milder than the nose but very similar. Pumpkin and cinnamon.
Feel - lighter body, little carbonation.
Overall - enjoyable mild pumpkin beer.

Purchased as part of the Elysian “Pumpkin Pack” of bottles!

L- Looks like raw apple cider.

S- Cinnamon, cloves, pumpkin.

T- Sweet with pronounced cinnamon
flavor.

F- Thin mouthfeel. Lively carbonation.

O- A little too sweet for my taste. It’s
almost like pumpkin pie soda!

Pours a cloudy but bright orange with a short-lived off-white head. Lots of floating particulates. Aroma is your typical pumpkin pie spices. Flavor follows the nose, sweet up front, with a little bitterness in the finish. Feel is medium to light bodied with adequate carbonation. Overall, a so-so pumpkin ale.

The head quickly disappeared and I was left with a very average ale. This one had a very thin, prickly mouthfeel and it was way too bitter for a pumpkin ale. I didn't get any kind of sweetness and very little maltiness to compliment the in your face spices. I actually poured it out and will probably give the rest of the 6 pack to a friend. Not impressed with this one at all.

The label looked awesome! Maybe I got a bad batch. But this tasted like when you accidentally throw up a little in your mouth. Not good I was looking forward to a good pumpkin beer

Reminds me of a lower ABV version of their “The Great Pumpkin”. I wish there was more than the token amount of head. There is no lacing. Beautiful clear copper color though. Pumpkin pie on nose and flavor. Medium body. Fine to very fine carbonation in the mouth. Nice.
