Thanks to Kump for this one.

Poured from a bomber, no #freshbeer info.

Dark brown pour, milky espresso flavor mixed with baker`s chocolate and a bit of dark chocolate. Retention is decent. Body is a bit thin though it does have a nice bitter coffee finish.

Elysian. My god, you guys have done it again.

This is my 2nd time having this beer. Smells like a stout. Tastes like a big, beautiful, beer latte. Excellent creamy mouthfeel, goes down really smooth. This is now officially one of my favorite dark beers.

Had on draft at Founding Farmers DC on 5/10/14

A-Pours dark brown with a beige head. Minimal lacing.

S-The aroma has cream, vanilla, smooth roast, coffee and chocolate.

T-The flavor begins with lots of roast, lots of coffee, dark chocolate and some earthy hops. The finish has woodiness, more coffee and light milkiness.

M-It has a medium body with a nice rough feel and low carbonation.

O-Overall a very enjoyable milk stout that I would get again.

Not sure how this one ended in my fridge but for some reason a stout was sounding good. Already drank a Belgian Bomber so not sure if that will affect my review of this one. Outstanding looking beer with a good treat to the nose, although coffee is the most prominent smell. Taste, really smooth with strong Coffee taste but nothing overwhelming. Overall a very good beer that is reasonably easy to drink but with the low ABV I expected more, I actually dinged it overall due to low ABV. To much coffee for that ABV in my opinion. While it is a very good beer I would be not probably revisit, although if you were a stout, and especially a coffee stout fan then this may interest you.

A: Olive black in the vessel with a huge multi-finger mocha head that was spongy textured and moderately lasting. Large coverage of lace on the glass with minor windows of visibility.

S: Aroma of powdered milk, dry chocolate, chalky, with some dry grains of moderate strength. Wish the aroma could of been more fresh and bigger. Semi-sweet notes of creamer coffee but not much in the way of espresso.

T: Flavor was chalky, creamer laced dry chocolate, pretty big flavorwise. Sweet, powdery milk chocolate and cocoa with some big mention of fresh, wet espresso grounds mid-palate that finishes dry.

M: Malty mouthful, that turned frothy with creamer like texture and edgy carbonation and dry chocolate leave.

O: Overall the espresso nature starts to pick up with some rich, deep coffee grounds balanced by some minor sweet milk chocoalte notes. Not as sweet per style as many, but the extra rich espresso nature picks up for some of the slack making this somewhat interesting.

Pours a black color. 1/3 inch head of a tan color. Decent retention and decent lacing. Smells of coffee, sweet malt, roasted malt, hint of chocolate, hint of oatmeal, and slight hop. Fits the style of a Milk / Sweet Stout. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. There is also a slight bitterness. Tastes of coffee, sweet malt, hint of oatmeal, hint of yeast, hint of chocolate, slight roasted malt, and a hint of hop. Overall, weak appearance, but good aroma, body, blend, and complexity.

Poured from a bottle into a tulip glass at around 45°F

Appearance: Black with no light coming through. A small half finger tan head

Smell: High quality coffee/espresso with a undertone of milk chocolate

Taste: Like an iced mocha, but not as pleasant as the smell.

Mouthfeel: Light medium; Slight bitterness yet smooth

Overall: I was impressed with this one. Nice aroma and tasty for such low abv. I shouldve drank this in the morning. If you're a fan of coffee stouts or prefer the taste of coffee rather than beer, this is right up your alley. I thought this was better than the Lagunitas Cappuccino Stout I had a couple days ago. I thoroughly enjoyed this and will seek out another when I want a beer for breakfast.

22oz into a tulip. Pours a translucent dark brown w/ a 1-finger khaki head.

Aroma is bitter coffee and dark roasted malt. Dark chocolate, roasted hazelnuts.

Taste is rich espresso and bitter dark malt. Nice clean coffee presence.

Mouthfeel is smooth and velvety, soft like a chocolate milkshake.

Overall a really nice, straightforward coffee stout. Enjoyable.

Thick whipped cream head is latte colored, 2" tall and long lived, leaving dense creamy rings on a Guinness pint glass. The stout is black, even when put to the light.

Upfront with latte aromas, followed by powdered chocolate and malt. Some fresh moist wheat bread makes it through as well.

Follows the nose and plays up the sweetness of the lactose. Roasted bitterness is definitely present, but well controlled. A very subtle finish.

The head is creamy and a major player, while the beer is silky smooth. A watery thin body and no discernible alcohol. Faint carbonation.

This is an amazingly drinkable milk stout. I enjoyed it with a Philly stake sandwich on a spectacular Spring day, by the Canal.

A - Solid stout colour, very dark brown bordering on black. Head is a little on the fizzy side.

S - Definitely getting that sharp bite of coffee. A little roastiness intermingles.

T - Lightly roasted malt. Watery coffee. Not much sweetness considering it's a milk stout.

M - A little thin and not as creamy and smooth as I'd have hoped.

O - I fear I may be slightly ruined regarding non-imperial stouts. Unfortunately this tasted and felt washed out to me but that may not be the beer's fault. In an effort to rate to style I rated .25 higher than I was originally inclined on most categories.

Poured from a 22 into a pint glass. The beer appears very dark with little transparency and has a big light brown head that leaves little lacing. It has a nice espresso smell with a hoppiness. It's a nice split shot between fresh hops and your morning espresso. Very nice. It has a creamy mouth feel with a dry finish. Overall a good choice for breakfast or brunch.
