Poured into a frosty pint glass...

A - Good looking...huge 3 finger head , hazy orange body and solid lacing.

S - Grapefruit, and Oranges. slight hop bitterness poking through.

T - slightly sour, Very little hop bitterness, then mellows out leaving lingering orange peel. pretty good. The orange peel is a little overbearing at times.

M- Well carbonated. medium thin mouthfeel.

Overall I see what they were trying to do with this beer but the whole thing could of been balanced a lot better. If some sweet caramel came through and mellowed the orange peel it would have been awesome.

You basically get what you expect from this beer. First off, the bottle art, it's cool and retro just like this beer-a very nice beer on any occasion, and an excellent one for a summer bbq.

It has a light golden color, but is hazy. The one finger head is reminiscent of dole whip, very creamy and dreamy. Too bad it doesn't retain for longer. Looks more like a weizen.
It takes awhile for the aroma to expand a bit. Very blah initially, mostly just bready and sweetness from the malts. Very clean orange smell, sweet as well, similar to a creamsicle even. Even though they finished it off with Citra and Amarillo, it come off smelling like orange sherbert. Some nice pepper accents and green twig notes + cinnamon sticks, carries the malt sweetness well. Really great mouthfeel, luscious medium body, creamy mid, and an ever so nice bitter orange pith bitterness that doesn't overwhelm. It definitely, feels like I drank something called Superfuzz. This could have been a cloying beer with the low ABV and orange sugar addition, but the balance is really spot on. Could it be more bitter, yes? Did I expect more citrus aroma, yes?
Overall, this is an above average pale ale with some blood orange thrown in. Does the blood orange take it to the next level. No. But it doesn't hurt the profile of the beer, and was incorporated nicely with the summer session drinkers in mind.

Pour a slightly haze golden straw color that has orange highlights. The white head is short and tight, settles into a light ring.

The aroma is fairly neutral. There is a slight bready aroma with a hint of orange. Not much else.

The taste is lightly fruity and lightly bitter. A bready malt base with an earthy/grassy hop bitterness. This is paired with a light fruitiness from the blood orange. The fruit flavor is quite subtle. It seems to add more of a brightness than actual flavor. Perhaps some orange peel bitterness towards the end.

Moderate feel with tingly carbonation. Its bright on the palate with a slightly bitter finish. Drinks well.

Its an ok brew. I much prefer Great South Bay's blood orange pale ale over this. A nice summer beer.
